i know its been 5 years, but just curious, why didnt you use the double sided tape to secure the wood to the bench instead of using 4 clamps?
@SecondSonWoodworks
@SecondSonWoodworks 4 ай бұрын
Good question, not sure if the double sided tape would be sufficient to hold while routering and sanding

Hmm one like this, maybe 40-50 dollars. This was a while ago so I can't remember exactly. Now it would be worth more with wood prices and inflation. Thanks for watching!

I thought there was a lot of good effort in this sign, and the basic design was good. There seemed to be too much feathering in the letters and the tree. It made the end result look a bit amateurish. Perhaps the bit was too fine. I've seen other videos of hand-held carvings which showed much cleaner letters without using chisels afterward. Wood selection might be a problem also. I am not a professional, and am making my comments as personal opinions only.

You spelled the name wrong - Tinsleys < is the proper plural of the family name, what you carved is the contraction of "Tinsley is"! If you want to dress it up you can add the apostrophe after the s... as in Tinsleys' . Masking Tape is made of paper not clear plastic - what you used is known as "packing tape"

I think the clients wanted it this way so they could hang it above their front door and it would indicate that the house was theirs. And thanks for the correction.

@Exsig12 3 жыл бұрын
@@leightonwestbury92 I second the ignoring of the negativity aspect of putting yourself out there. Focus on the positive!! Comments help you understand some things though, they were correct on the tape. Someone not knowing the difference would run out to buy masking tape only to realize it wouldn't help them. Nice job on the project!! 👍
