I take my truck outside and I do this once a month. Top up with distilled water. (it's not a maintenance free) and desulfate. Good job Francie.

If you wash your wheels with soap and water and dry them off really well, they will turn faster too!

I never heard of this test but I have spent hours looking for where it was draining with no luck and a bunch of aggravation. That one dont get drove much so I was putting off a new battery. I just tried this and I feel kinda dumb lol. Thanks for this piece of knowledge. The hottest spot was almost 9v, and after cleaning 0.

100% legitimate. It’s called a battery leakage test

100% true, this can happen in damp weather, or winter time, especially so if you don't use your vehicle alot. You can get an antycontact spray that will prevent this from happening. Used by electronic curkit board makers.. This is what I use.

@bjrickenbacher5139 I should have added that I use an Electrical Contact Cleaner to clean the battery's plastic first. I never use sope and water, especially when the + and - terminals are connected. This can create a short. This E.C.C. can be used on your Electric connector plugs or sockets. To clean them out. Used by most electrical engineers. I use it all the time. There's also another electrical spray that can be used that helps similar to the antycontact one that helps on plugs and sockets that helps to keep damp and water out in any weather. I use this also. I use this on my circuit boards as well. Hope this help you.
