Thing is there are a few numbers on the tag. It depends on which one you asked about, but definitely, the one I’m referring to refers to the origin of the stock

I think 6 is directly sold to TK Max. I have a few items which were cheap and are fine.

@sofisam7335 not sure I would say they’re not original as they would imply counterfeit. They have faulty/old stock/licensed for TKMAXX to make and sell/made by TKMAXX

I’ve seen a few code 8’s lately which I never really came across until 6 months ago. I bought one today (a t-shirt by Scotch and Soda) which was allegedly hugely reduced. I bought it because I liked it but it would be interesting to know all the codes. I can’t see anything wrong with the shirt, but I reckon one of the codes must be ‘seconds’.

There isn’t anything wrong with the items and I don’t believe it’s “seconds”, if by that you mean secondhand. From my research 8 means overstock or out of season items from the brand. Scotch and sodas are very good brand that do high-quality things! So that sounds like a good find.

I’ve not read that anywhere, but you may well be right. By seconds I meant below standard via manufacturing error (eg faulty stitching).

It’s authentic but to say original will depend on your definition. Some items made through the purchase of a license for example
