@kathleencraig38042 жыл бұрын
wow your crew bar is very nice compared to Princess or Carnival our crewbar was inside and eh eh, our crew cafeteria was just a reg cafeteria type buffet ...our crew areas were nothing to talk about our crew cabins were larger than some of the newer carnival ships and princess and probably wonder of seas and your crew cabin must be similar to other cruiseship cabins you didn't show the laundry areas, haha washer/dryers for crews all we had to buy was laundry detergent at ports, the dry cleaning areas was free to us also ...nothing else to talk about ...behind the scenes you didn't talk about behind the areas you can see doors which leads to stairs to down or up to crew areas I-95 and elevators /crew ..crew not allowed to take guest elevators ...

Always great to see some "behind the scenes" areas on cruise ships -- they really ARE fully realized cities afloat! I haven't been able to do the behind the scenes tour on Royal because it isn't offered on charter cruises, but I've done it on Carnival ships several times and you get to see a lot of crew areas, Engineering Control, the bridge, theater backstage, the galley, etc. I highly recommend doing such a tour if it's offered (on any cruise line) after COVID. I've learned something new every time I've participated.

Thank you for all of your videos...I have always appreciated all of the hard work all the cruise members give. I have learned so much from your videos and thank you for letting us know just how important it is for us to do the surveys at the end of the cruise. I wish I would have taken a picture of one of the staffs name tag last month so I could have given her the recognition she deserved. But at last I'm back on that ship next week & I'm not going to forget her this time! Thanks again for all you do!

Damn, I miss my days on ships. Worked with Royal for 6 years. Explorer, Jewel, Oasis, Vision, Mariner, Independence (x 3 contracts), Navigator, Freedom, Radiance, Liberty. Have only visited Allure and Anthem. Kinda jealous of that coffee shop. Stay safe out there.

Chris, I love the design of the Crew Cafe and Gym. Are they large enough to accommodate the crew? Yea!!!! For the outdoor crew areas!!!!! I always imagine that the crew have no place to go -- glad you proved me wrong.

Having retired sailing freighters in the Merchant Marines, I know very well how crew accommodations are a last consideration. but as on merchant ships, things have improved greatly since my early days going to sea. I'm sure you've heard some horror stories from some of the old-timers as well. Good stuff, Chris. Thanks.

Your content is always very informative . . . I just hit the subscribe button. I've been on 4 RCCL cruises and the staff have always been great: from the bartenders, to the wait staff and our cabin attendants. It's good to see that Royal Caribbean takes care of their team members. Happy crew = happy customers. You said that crew are not allowed ashore . . .why is that?

The goal of saving money for feuture financial independence. With that goal in mind. Its not about what you make its about what you are able to keep . Its a difficult goal for most to sat that they are able to save $500 to $1,000 per month. On land after expenses Especially if you a renter ( An Easy $1200 per month , Car and insurance Easy $500 Fuel an Easy $125 , Food eating out and home Easy $375 (Not Dateing if Dateing + Easy $200 ) And clothes . Do most Cruse lines Cover the cost of your clothes and Laundry ! So it appears the ability of an average person To save for a decent retirement is easier. Especially if you not a home owner and are able to collect rent . So a person can make more On land . But it Doesn't matter if you only end up with ($100 or $200 to save to buy a home . Make a video from that prospective. Of How to retire early by 50 for example. Possibly Not live in US but other countries with your Savings. Where Land and Homes are Less.

I love the gym, I love the coffee bar ( never knew they existed) so bright and peaceful. I am blown away with Deck 7 for crew to catch some sun and read etc plus a crew bar. I think very highly of the Line you sail with to think of these amenities for crew. It’s lovely to watch your positivity. I know it’s lovely to get off the ship and explore but it’s also lovely to sit in the sun for a few hours. Too bad other bloggers would not be so positive. I hope you are enjoying your holiday in UK.( even the rain lately)

Chris I am loving your videos and can not wait to take my cruise starting April 23 to May 25 and will celebrate my birthday on May 17. I will turn 80. With all your tours of the ship I should be able to find my way around rather easily. When does your tour end? All the ships have a medical facility with at least one doctor and one nurse on duty for any passengers, or crew, that might fall ill. They have medications and life saving equipment onboard and can handle most routine injuries or illnesses. If something truly serious, like a heart attack for example, were to happen they can get the person stabilized and then have them airlifted off or disembarked at the next port.
@lexington4762 жыл бұрын

I'm glad that the crew has an outside area in which they can rest. However, I think it's a shame that the bows of some ships are off limits to passengers, especially the helipads of Oasis class ships. Those areas are MASSIVE, but they're "crew only" areas. I wanted to go there while on the Harmony of the Seas a couple of years ago, but when I asked a crew member how to get there, she told us that it was off limits to passengers. However, the helipad on the Independence, Serenade, and Adventure of the Seas were accessible to passengers unless it was extremely windy or there was inclement weather.
