The fact it has actual camera angles programmed that look correct, rather than just freezing on Ezio the whole time, suggests to me that at some point it was intended for this to be actually seen.

I love the reactions of Ezio's family, Machiavelli, and Caterina. When Ezio told them of his confrontation against Rodrigo in the Vault. It showed how much they took seriously about finding the grand temple to stop the sun disaster. Showing they had planned a ending before Ubisoft got greedy and distorted the franchise.

Seeing the scenes side-by-side, it really is a shame they didn't find some way to incorporate this in "AC: The Ezio Collection". I'm not necessarily talking about the limitations of the game's engine (to display both pre-rendered movie clips and the live rendering of the conversation Ezio is having.... all at the same time), but rather the fact that they had to choose which of the two scenes/methods was the most effective at conveying the impact of the events that happened at the end of AC2.

@fenix_tx_13422 ай бұрын
What we had all seen was the right side version at 00:49, what nobody (outside of developers) had seen, was the left side version, without the flashback visuals. They had the whole scene of Ezio explaining this with mocap, facial animations, and camera angles, even though we don't seem them, meaning the flashback from AC2 was a late addition, and we were meant originally to see the characters react to what Ezio was saying in real time rather than be watching an AC2 flashback.

Yeah they clearly made a creative choice here and one I don't like, honestly. I hate it when TV shows, movies and games do these kinds of hand-holdy flashback sequences. Most players will go straight into Brotherhood and the ending of the last game will be fresh in one's mind and the reactions of the other characters are important for conveying just how radical and fantastical this is to everyone present. Still a great game though, but no product is perfect and will please everyone all of the time.
@lemur_official2 ай бұрын
I think what you're not considering is the amount of time there was between 2 and brotherhood's releases. By the time Brotherhood came out, the flashback sequence likely would have been a welcome refresher for a lot of people playing the game for the first time
@Fyrehart972 ай бұрын
@@lemur_official I can see that, but I still disagree. Assassin's Creed had already become an annual release at that point, so it would have been less than a year for an average player to wait and probably close to the amount of time it took for Ezio and Mario to return from Roma to Monteriggioni. They also could have extended the prologue to include more of the "moving painting" sequence.
