This ending has always made me more sad then afraid. All of the other toys of Mary's memories in the dreamscape didn't mind being forgotten. They cherished the memories and times they had with her gone bye and a lot of them even told her it was OK to move on and live her life, even if it meant forgetting them to do it. But Oragami cat was different. He didn't want to be forgotten, he didn't want to be a cherished memory left behind. He wanted Mary to remember him and admire him forever. He was selfish. So he became this... A darker shadow in the moonless night. A thought forever lingering in the mind. The thing always waiting around every corner, at the end of every road, behind every door. All just so Mary wouldn't forget him. Even if it meant she never got better. If he was a true friend he would have accepted she needed to move on and part on good terms like the other toys. I guess some things are best not left behind....

The good news is that Mary might eventually be able to look at origami cat without feeling scared... but then that just means the nightmares, getting worse and worse every night. It'd eventually be to the point where she'd die instantly in the nightmare.. maybe she lucid dreams? Yeah, doubt it. Mary's now in just *Pain* . Mary won't ever be able to get over it.. the nightmare's may not've killed her physically... but they'd kill her mentally. Then... that would lead into her most likely commiting suicide...

For those who don’t know. The Origami cat is the resemblance of Shadow Candy from the Original FNAC and its remastered. FNAF 3 takes place before FNAC/FNACR. The reason why Marylin wants to Forget him is because it reminded her of her mother’s death. Shadow Candy was scrapped in the original as if he isn’t gonna jump scare you. He’s is more of Golden Freddy without scaring you. In the remastered version, here you will have Shadow Candy Appear on the 8th night by getting the code from the Rat if you stare at him. The Origami cat is somehow possessed into Shadow Candy. Even still you have one on the desk. It’s just Mary’s Imagination.

no.. she just wants to forget her nightmares caused by the whole vinnie incident. that's like the whole point of the game, her mother has nothing to do with it other than the fact they made origami cat together and that it was supposed to bring mary happiness or probably even help her. i can assume, her mothers death was pretty traumatic from her - but she never spoke of it in-game, not even to her therapist. mary started to see what was meant to bring her joy, in the form of a monster - so it became just that. mary saw vinnie kill two dudes, and she started blaming herself for it (she did go in there the first place), got a guilt complex and then she tried forgetting about them.. then they became unwanted memories and the latter equal monsters. the forgotten ending, while seeming like a cool concept, is executed poorly.. origami doesn't even get why mary is doing this to him and she doesnt even tell him why in the aftermath. she's mute the whole entirety of the game and doesnt question anything! or how he even got information to defeat those monsters. is he real?? is he a figment of her imagination? why does he seem to be sentient?? so much could have been done with his character, and it feels like they wasted it rushingly in an alternative ending. at this point, id be fine with the good ending being canon - because at least it doesnt try anything its incapable of. i know hes supposed to be a supporting character that doesnt really have relevance to the plot other than helping mary - but then why not outright just make him a normal therapist and not an origami cat? why make him have this supposed backstory of being created by both mary and her mom??? I know the central point of fnac 3 is about mary, but, it doesnt just have to be about her. they couldve at least made mary slowly remember and even recall memories of her and the origami cat w/o her mother. if she began to remember her old room, why not him as well? it doesnt necessarily have to be in the form of minigames but just them chatting together about it even if origami cat isnt real, at least actually make them talk like real friends without origami cat being a fact-machine. no wonder he got so pissed easily here

@@cupofsatori ok im 11 months late but its ok because the og comment was 4 years ago fnac 3 isnt about mary forgetting her nightmares. its about her confronting them head-on as a metaphor for her processing her trauma. origami cat directly tells you on the first night that you have to face your fears to deal with them the metaphorical relevance of pushing origami cat off the table is trying to forcefully forget about everything, to push away those nasty thoughts and never properly address them. in the main ending, mary is able to come to terms with what happened in the theater and see that none of it was her fault, allowing her to begin to heal. in the forgotten ending, she pushes away all of those memories, but that doesn't solve your problems, so it comes back to haunt mary. monstergami is simply a physical incarnation of mary's trauma being pushed further back - never being dealt with, so always being in the back of her mind, always coming back to haunt her again. because she wasn't able to process the events in her mind, they remain as nasty memories - monsters - forever.

I think this "Nightmare Origami Cat" is pretty nice. Seriously, from what we've learned, this origami want to help us defeat our Nightmares. And there, we learn that the girl does not give a fuck anymore. Unfortunately, it was transformed into a nightmare by being forgotten. But this origami still wants to help us, but since he knows that the girl is afraid of nightmares, he decided to "stay in a corner of our mind" to avoid scaring the little girl, and to keep an eye on her. Well my theory is that Mary (The Girl you play as) Turned Rat and Cat into these "Monsters" out of fear in her dreams, so she had to remember what happened to make the "Monsters" go away, but since she tried to forget the Origami Cat, she turned him into a "Monster" on accident, because these are all in her dreams. We'll never know. You know why? This game is very much dead. It's not going to be continued. There is no "FNAC 4". It's only called that because it's in the same universe. It's a shame honestly. I feel like they did the opposite of FNAF and didn't give us a lot of lore. I understand it's because they were going with the more psychological horror route and wanted to be more "realistic" and stuff but still - I feel like it didn't deserve 3 games. It was like a one-shot fanfic that got really popular because it had a cool concept.

What’s really scary about those eyes isn’t in the way they look, but that when you think about it, they prevent you from falling asleep. You can close your eyes as long as you want and get used to looking at the cat’s eyes, but you’ll never be able to sleep to let time pass; thus night time will feel like an eternity and you’ll never feel rested. It’s quite terrifying 😨

Very late to this video, but I love this ending so much. very unexpected coming from the Origami cat, yet very dark and eerie, especially the eyes.
