SECRET Garden Tour| Gardening on a budget

I'm so glad you've joined me to watch my secret garden tour and reveal! I was so very excited about creating a garden on a budget, especially a garden THIS FUN! My secret garden is tucked into an area that you don't see right away, so I just ran with the idea of making it private and full of plants, flowers and details.
My secret garden is filled with tropical plants and flowers, and came to life using my budget gardening ideas such as dividing our own perennials, buying plants on clearance and garden sharing. Gardening in a budget is where it's at!
My name is Nicole Roggeman, and I am a gardener in zone 8B in coastal North Carolina. Gardening is my passion, and I like to try new combinations of plants together, I plant for fun and try not to worry too much. I also love using the drone over my gardens for a unique perspective. Since My Carolina Garden is in Wilmington NC, we have hot, humid summers, and have sandy soil here. These are all things I keep in mind throughout the growing season. Spectacular! I like the detail of the large pebbles along the pallet board path. My suggestion to take it to next level is to add a little more vertical height on fence side. Putting more spiller plants in pots hanging down would be one idea. Dicondra or even sweet potato vine would look awesome. Maybe a couple of mandevillas on pot ls would look good too. Bottom line would be more plants with height. Otherwise super job

Very pretty pathway garden but now you need at least one bench and a small table in front of the fence so you can sit there and enjoy it with your favorite beverage.

You should also consider adding Canna Musafolia for height you can buy these online and grow up to 8’ high. Mire mandevilla would also look good along the wall

Thank you! I like the "pop-up" nursery in front of Beach Bowl near the Military Cutoff bypass. They have nice varieties and are usually willing to make deals. I also love Pender Pines in Hampstead, and I check their weekly ad online each week to see if I want to go there 😀 Do you have a fave place I should be checking out?

@@mycarolinagarden Thanks for the info on the pop up center. I went to Blooms & branches on Oleander Dr this week. I bought one plant, a little more than I wanted to pay. but wanted the plant. They did not have a very large selection but they are very nice.
