Lovely. Snorkeling is a must do for us on every vacation. I’ll have to check this spot out the next time I’m near half moon.

Yeah. We love to do it here.

Wonderful video! We're off to Half Moon Cay on HAL Oosterdam January 2020. It's good to know that you can escape the crowds by walking along the beach.

We love talking the few extra steps to have a peaceful day ashore. It's really nice if you aim to spend most of your time swimming and snorkeling. Happy cruising!

Thanks for the video. I really wanted to go to Antigua but the cruises that go there all depart from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Watching this, I feel like I can go here as an alternative and find a cruise that departs from Florida, make it a little bit easier ☺. It looks beautiful here! The horse riding on the beach was cool, and my family and I have been to dozens of beaches, from California, Florida, the Philippines, and Mexico but we have never gone snorkeling! After watching your video, it's definitely on my to-do list 😀

Beautiful snorkeling spot! I have not done a lot of snorkeling just some in the Bahamas like here. Love how clear the water is and the water didnt seem too deep. Looks like paradise out there

It’s marked along the beach not to go past a certain point. Before it was marked I was able to walk to the far western point of the island. There’s a wreck about 20 yards off the point and a completely private beach. I’m not sure if there another trail to get there. Great visibility every time I’ve been there.

When you walked over to the point are did you see any coral or inverts?
@InTheLoopTravel2 жыл бұрын
Just a bit of coral and a lot of fish but no invertebrates. There is a sunken vessel or pier there that is pretty cool

What did you do with your stuff when you went swimming, running, riding? I'm worried about leaving my things unattended.
@InTheLoopTravel2 жыл бұрын
Our stuff was safe on the beach to snorkel. No one is down at that end of the cay. I used a little backpack as well for other times. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the tips! Heading there in a few weeks with the same ship. Looks like a great itinerary for us. Did you have to reserve the horseback riding or was it just walk up/first come first served?
@InTheLoopTravel4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. The horseback riding has to be booked on the ship as an excursion (I'm pretty sure that's the case; that's what we did). Have a great cruise!

Looks like a promising snorkeling spot. How long do you have to walk from the port area (or approximate distance)? Thanks...
@InTheLoopTravel5 жыл бұрын
Yeah. It was fun.i think I tell the distance in the video. Less than 1.5 miles I think

Thank you for the vid. If nothing else I learned to just hoof it aways from the crowd to the quiet beach area. I'm assuming that you brought your own snorkel gear? I always wonder if it's worth carrying my own stuff all over including getting it on board.
@InTheLoopTravel5 жыл бұрын
I do have my own. But renting it can make packing more hassle free. Glad you liked the tips. Yeah, you don't even have to walk too far to find a little peace and quiet.
@griffinf833 жыл бұрын
Yes it is worth having your own gear love having my own and not worry if the rental is cleaned good

Can you snorkel in bonefish lagoon on halfmoon?
@InTheLoopTravel4 жыл бұрын
Not sure about that. Boat snorkeling tours take you to coral reefs, maybe at the edge of the protected area.
@morvau4 жыл бұрын
@@InTheLoopTravel thanks for that info. Cant seem to find anything on snorkeling the lagoon but it looks more lively than beach snorkeling.

This is not Holland Americas private island... this is owned by the carnival corporation which is who owns HA....this is actually visited more times by carnival ships than any other ship. second is HA.... I would caution you to get your facts correct before you assume they are truth. A small check on google shows you're wrong about your information. Also its CAY NOT KEY very different words
