I love how young the Marauders and Lily look in the first half, because they were all young adults (20-21 ish) when James and Lily died. It's a nice touch and it hits home how horrible their situation was.

SPOILER (prisoner of Azkaban, and goblet of fire ) I don’t understand why Harry didn’t let them kill Peter. It would’ve saved Voldemort from coming back in the next book. None of the other Death Eaters would’ve sacrificed themselves for the dark lord. I don’t get it at all.

they probably didn’t anticipate just how much damage wormtail would cause. at the time, they saw it as a moral thing to do (and something james would do!) and spared his life. but uh if they knew he’d escape, save voldemort, and then slice his hand off the revive him... he’d definitely be dead
