I think it was after endgame only because in endgame if I remember correctly, after Thanos bombed them he got out of his suit and still had his leg things on, and I even think it was after his part in falcon and the winter soldier because he was mad Sam gave away the shield, I don't think a skrull would've been mad as it would mean one less threat 🤷🏿‍♂️

Talos' sacrifice along with Fury leaving him behind are a callback to what he told G'iah his plan was. Talos continuing to rescue the President despite showing his "true skin" gave people an opportunity to see that there's a faction of his people with a good heart. I believe that is also partly why Fury left him, not only does it make everyone else aware that Skrulls are real, but also allows those to see Talos' sacrifice to tell of it as well.

There were still friendly US forces there cleaning up the fight as the Skrulls escaped. So someone was there to take his body away. Fury had to save the President at that moment. His friend was already dead.

Man that Fury and Skrull Rhoady conversation was amazing. I love how much they’re just letting samuel be samuel with this role. The dialogue sounds so natural and those usual Samuel quips being allowed in a marvel project are a nice touch. I figured he would’ve known his wife was planning on betraying him, that little shootout scene was fire lol. The talos and gaia convo also felt very natural. Emilia Clarke is such a great actress. You could really feel the disappointment and disillusionment with her father in that scene and truthfully, you’d be hard pressed not to agree with her. Talos does sound delusional with that plan. After 20+ years you’d think he’d have something more concrete. NOOOO TALOS. Man no way they killed my boy off like that. I’m sick. I did not expect the skrulls to straight up try and kill POTUS. Like this is some extremely bold shit.

So far I really have enjoyed the series. The spy thriller trope really fits the MCU. I am bit sad that we won’t see Ben Mendelson in more movies or show, I have doubts they revive him. Talos was a great character.

He has a sad smirk, hands on his knees as if he’s trying to fake a reaction before letting Peter and Pepper come in. There’s more evidence for him being a Skrull in his indifference in this scene than anything I think. It absolutely fits that Rhodey is a Skrull in Endgame, including the space travel scene, the time heist with Nebula scene, the death and funeral etc just clearly not the same Rhodey in retrospect.

I like what they did in this ep. the way Talos’ fulfilled his set out duties. Not only making a significant point, but will basically give way for the skrulls for acceptance from the world and bigger motivations for G’iah to take over his father’s missions. It’s just sad to see him go, leaving her alone once again. I also love Nick Fury’s interactions with his wife. Two compatible people counter-parting each other.

I would love to hear analysis on the action scene from someone who has experienced combat or an experienced action film director, because it felt if you watched it in realtime, people were just standing still for minutes at a time looking at each other while 'elite' soldiers 2m away from them were shooting into a different field. Plus Fury being able to drive up behind them, get out of the car, shoot down a helicopter, then it's "Fury might be here".

Great review Charlie! It was hard for me to swallow how Rhodes could be a skrull but no doubts now! I never like how they off a popular good guy character to give the story depth or a pivot so I'm really gonna miss Ben Mendahlson. But now it will propel G'iah in the obvious direction of Team Fury which we need. RIP Talos. Who's next?😅 And it was also a surprise how Fury's own wife had no knowledge of him putting the Avengers together and everything that came after. Not some underling but Fury himself did it because as she says, he knew the importance of having a home and keeping his home safe. A shame he hadn't been able to do that for them as well is what I think she meant. Thanks again Charlie!

I love how this show sets up mistrust and mystery, not just with the shapeshifting thing where you wonder who is who, I also mean the words and plans. Like the submerine in episode 3 that was about to launch on the UN plane, and Gaya said that it failed, but Gravik said, "I didn't fail. That plane would have been valuable, finding the traitor was essential." So its like... Gravik might be playing both sides, now don't hold me to that, because at the moment I thing that he is trying to help his people, like they want a home and for their race to survive and thrive as it once did, but maybe later on they will show him as just some maniac that is more obsessed with war than his own people, but anyway, Gravik sets things up to where no one can really know what it is that he is trying to do, like... that skrull who was in the submarine as was going to instagate the others into launching at the plane he took the key out immediately when it was aborted, so he might have known that this wasn't the intended plan, but for arguments' sake, let's just say that none of the other skrulls knew about Gravik's real intention for the plan, like the one helping with the plan and the ones carrying out the plan, and the council members and others who he has told his plans to, say that they actually believed what Gravik told them about firing on the UN plane, they think that that is the plan, but in reality that was never Gravik's intent and he expected the plan to fail so that he could find the traitor amongst the skrulls, so the ones that he told his plans to they actually believe that the plan has failed when that was never Gravik's real plan to being with. So it turns into a situation where it is like, when Gravik gives a plan it is then like, "Is this really your plan, or is there something more to this that you arr not telling us?" Because right now you cannot take anything that Gravik is saying at face value, most likely there is something more there, and I like that, because it builds up suspense and distrust in whatever is said and implemented.

I get Rhodey being a Skrull does take away from that scene a few Episodes back,but it would be a great set up for the real Rhodey in Armor Wars to clean up mess the Skrull caused, like collecting tech from New Skrullos and the Iron Man suits and whatever from DODC and the US

I always suspected something weird about Brody in Civil War... I understand they had to pick sides but his sense of duty was extreme it seem over his family/friends... I mean he has a responsibility to the military/country...but it just seemed a bit much and then Tony being his friend and Tony having doubts or influenced by "Superheroes " being checked just complicated things.. and maybe ot was the plan all along by the Skrulls...

I think Secret Invasion will also set up the idea of intolerance for Mutants. Humanity will be even more distrustful of "others" (hell we have that now between ourselves) because of what happens with the Skrulls taking over human identities, and once the Mutants truly arrive in the MCU there will be an immediate fear and loathing towards them.

IMO Secret Invasion is on its way to becoming the Best venue Marvel Studios has produced since Endgame: Gotta stress the "on its way" part of my declaration b/c it MUST stick the landing! WandaVision, FATWS, Loki, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight & Werewolf By Night have been great for me but they all fell short on 1 or 2 aspects - most notably their influence on & growth of the MCU overall. The Best thing this series does is makes every minute on screen impactful! I was so pessimistic when I saw Ep4 was just 38min but, man, does it pack a punch 🤜🏾💥 I re-watched some of the scenes in this episode twice (I think 3 times re: Fury & his Wife) in the same sitting to make sure I took in fully what I saw = sign of a great show IMO = took me an hour to see this ep in its entirety 🤌🏾 Glad Sam is an Executive Producer on this series: The Quality stands out & I hope this course-corrects the Multiverse Saga to invest more in character development like the Infinity Saga that preceded it 🙏🏾

When they mentioned DDT, I thought they were referring to the pesticide. It is delivered by a plane swooping in and dropping the load of pesticide like the fire planes dropping water on a forest fire. I think it is like Rhodey swooping in and hitting him with the firing.

I think part of it is people acting like they have destroyed fury, that he is the weakling they describe in the show itself. Yeah he isnt quite the old fury, but he isn't helpless either. He sees what is going on, and is making the correct moves while making people underestimate him. For example, when he goes for a walk to get kidnapped. There is a 0% chance he didn't see that coming.

There was a trailer Reed Richards with someone saying how they were "Big in the 1960's" if they're introduce as 1960's heroes like the original Ant-Man then they've already been introduced. Skrulls can potentially be bigger than in their base form by inflating like a blower fish the limitation would be how much they can stretch. They just have more control than Bouncing Boy from the Legion of Super Heroes in DC.

You mentioned Fury getting his eye scratched out by the flurken early in this episode, had me thinking back to a couple things from the captain marvel movie and when it happens Fury said, “it’s just a scratch.” And Talos replied, “No…” what more to that reply was there? And what is a flurken? It doesn’t always have the form of a cat, does it? What is its history/lore in the comics vs. MCU?

Yes, i was the shortest episode so far. I believe that Real Rohdey was replace after Avengers End Game, and we might see him among the huge collection of people on the tables in the huge room that we saw in the trailer. As I hope that will happen in next week's episode & not the finale. With the explanation of what happened to him. I am wondering, how will Gravek be defeated. I guess that it will be Gaia, using her wits & getting vengeance for her father. Yes, I do believe that she will become a version pf Abigail.
