My mom says that at the hospital she works at they ship blood and medicine around using pneumatic tubes, and for the most part it works, but sometimes the vials will get damaged and clog the system. But they're still in use today!

Drive-thru banks used to have tubes. Not sure when or if it ever stopped, but none of the banks I've been to since the 1980s have had tubes for depositing/withdrawing.

@@sammie7641 How odd. Where I live we only have drive through ATMs. It's been decades since I've seen a bank with pneumatic tubes. If it wasn't replaced with an ATM, it was shut down and you have to park and wait in line. By the time I was old enough to get a job and deposit my checks they've been gone. My only memory of these tubes is from when I was a child.

Nah, somebody wanted to kill it so they killed it. Had the rent not been such an extortion scheme, they could have continued using it just fine for express mail. The lady at the post office would just ask you "snail or tube?" and they could have kept it. Also they could have made it into a local attraction. Here in Prague the system still exists, it was being used until it was damaged during the 2002 flood and currently it is waiting to be restored.

Are you insane or am I just missing a joke?
@Willard_and_Wee-un4 жыл бұрын
@@the_egg_ They shot a cat through the machine so I pretended that I had cats and shotguns and that the cats were radical, anarchist, union members outraged by the working conditions of a fellow cat. The phrase I used was directly from the Industrial Workers of the World, a prominent union at the beginning of the 20th century, who use to be referred to as "wobbly pops." Furthermore, an angry black cat was an IWW symbol. Also, I'm insane.
