Well, a very good tip but I don't see the "awesome" in it, we have been doing this same type of treatment for years for casing leather and other reasons to wet the leather such as burnishing and dying, in some cases. Actually, any mild surfactant will give you the same results in quickly penetrating the leather and speeding up the wait for the casing to reach working stage. Many leather workers simply use a small amount of Dawn in their mixture. What IS awesome, for me anyway, is being able to watch your second video without the mind bending repetitive "thrump, thrump, thrump" of the acid? background music I had to endure in the first video I watched of you designing and making a pair of flip flops. Sorry, but at 77 and with much of my life being exposed to background noises of the manual labor world I grew up in, that type of brain draining repetition is way past my present endurance level. I prefer working with the sounds of nature and the outdoors and I leave the noisy modern rock or whatever is "in" at the moment to the younger gens. I haven't subscribed as yet but I WILL give another couple of your videos a look see before I make up my mind whether I want to go back to the silent movies days and keep the volume down around zero. I understood all of what you did without the pounding noise of the background sounds in your flip flops video and that is tolerable for me if I really need some more hints or tips that I think you might be able to supply to me. BTW, the flip flops turned out looking very well made and very professional.

And, in all fairness, I suppose that the GenX'ers and newer probably look at my era of music, last century's 60's and 70's rock 'n roll, and down home Country music was nothing more than trash so, at the end of the day as my dearly departed dad used to tell me, "It is what it is", so I will apologize to any readers/followers of your videos on whose tender toes I may have stepped .......
