I have been thinking more about EX-Secret Service Director Cheatle's first answer right off the bat in this clip and the more I mull it over, the more troubling it becomes. Congresswoman MTG asked Cheatle point blank "Was there a CONSPIRACY to KILL President Trump?"-- and Cheatle reflexively replied "Absolutely not." Think about that -- especially in light of what we HAD seen out of Cheatle until she resigned: 1. Absolutely ZERO briefings or statements to the media for the American People (and certainly NOT "daily" ones either); 2. CONTINUED SILENCE from her DESPITE getting raked over the coals DAILY from the normally Democrat-sympathetic media and various pundits; 3. LIES from Cheatle promising to brief U.S. Senators about their concerns ... only for her then to be filmed PHYSICALLY RUNNING AWAY FROM THEM and HIDING behind a LOCKED DOOR guarded by Secret Service agents ! 4. A REFUSAL on her part to visit the Butler, PA shooting sight. 5. Another REFUSAL on her part to PREPARE in advance for the Congressional hearing/her testimony, to have at least some helpful answers to extremely foreseeable and easy Qs, and/or to bring along to Capitol Hill the subpoenaed documents and materials Congress requested. 6. When she uttered any form of hearing response (rare occasion), Cheatle engaged in an ONGOING PATTERN of: a) SAYING virtually NOTHING of any SUBSTANTIVE or FACTUAL VALUE -- even though her Congressional testimony was a full 9 days following the near-assassination of former President Trump (!!!) b) LOTS of quibbling on her part, c) LOTS of her claiming that she "doesn't know the answer" to whatever question any particular Member of Congress asked, and d) LOTS of her saying "I can't answer that; it's a matter of ongoing internal Secret Service investigation that we need 60 days or so to get the answers and put the report together," and/or e) LOTS of her clamming up and referring matters to / hiding behind the FBI criminal investigation. You are confusing equity with equality. DEI is about ensuring people get equal access to the opportunities based on their merits (that's the equity). So many people will only hire a "white guy" (and yes, I am a white guy), even if other people are fully qualified. The goal of DEI is to ensure that other qualified people also have access to opportunities for which they are qualified, and making sure that role qualifications are based on role needs, not based on how to exclude people who are qualified for the role.

I listened to hearing. It was ridiculous how she claimed to take responsibility, then proceeded to not answer the questions or out right lied. Cenk is spot on that she needed to be fired a couple days afterwards. An interesting note I approved of both AOC’s and MTG’s grilling 😅. I don’t normally like either of them, but they addressed real issues with the secret security. There was some occasional grandstanding, but mostly Congress was pissed off and asking good/pointed questions. The question about drones and the possibility of drone assassinations is something that needs to be addressed yesterday. I can’t remember which rep brought it up, but that was one of the more important things to improve in the future.
