My mom, back in the day, worked at "The Conference of Mayors" down near Blair House. According to her, she used to greet Mr. Truman on his morning walk just about every morning on her way to work. I never heard about the assassination attempt on Truman but I believe you. Growing up I lived through three of them; JFK, RFK, and George Wallace who I believe was running for President on the Independent ticket.
