As time passed my skin grew less sensitive to magic shave, and the longer I could leave it on to ensure the hair comes off completely. 20 min minimum, 30 min maximum each time. I use the extra strength cream that comes in the squeezable tube

Thanks! I've been using it for about 20 years and I love it. But lately I was beginning to break out and didn't realized why.So I came here to KZbin in hopes of finding a solution. I was using the knife to wipe it off. My skins seems more sensitive now that I've gotten a little older. I have about 8 cans I was just going to toss and begin looking at electric razors for black men. I always bought them in bundles so I didn't have to make a trip back to the store. I never thought about wiping it off with a towel, or using a credit card or something not as hard (like a knife). I'm going to try it your way, and I do believe I will get better results. Using hot water have me minor chemical burns. For me cold water and mixing the solution worked best. The colder the better. Put cold water with a little ice in a water bottle to spray your face after 9 minutes with the solution and then take it off. This method gave me no burns

I LOVE magic shave, it's the only hair removal that work's for me. ONLY the powder, the pre-mixed cream isn't nearly as good for some reason. I find it's much easier to take a small Tupperware and SHAKE SHAKE the powder and water, then apply with a synthetic bristle paint brush. 12-15 might is the sweet spot for me Any irritating feeling while it's on, remove immediately!

Some men can use this stuff with no side effects. Some other men (like myself) have a bad reaction when using this stuff. It leaves my face swollen and numb with pink spots. It's not a product that you can use all the time, in place of a razor. It's something you should only use twice a month to minimize razor bumps. Now I only use it underneath my chin for exactly three minutes.
