FYI: when I was a kid riding TWA. I always received a new pack of cards and a wings pin from the stewardess. Then on our way off the plane my mother always let us wait towards the end to exit. That way I could always meet the pilots. 🙂. I grew up with two United stewardess that lived next door. I used to water their plants and feed their fish when they were working. I love your videos. Love the tips! I wouldn’t use the so called “pottable” water in the bathroom for brushing teeth though. There have been reports of organisms clinging to the pipes. And, bringing my water canteen into the bathroom sounds equally gross. I like using the disposable, no water needed “finger” tooth cleaners.
@akikiya64094 жыл бұрын
Renee I’ve heard the same thing about potable water. I keep the small water bottles that the flight attendant hand out and also the small cups that they serve water in and takes them both to the bathroom. I pour water into the cup and wet my toothbrush and swish my mouth.

I want to thank you Stella for your uplifting content. It matters. I'm 56 and moved from CA to IN a lil over 2 yrs ago to take care of my Mom (77). I discovered your channel a couple months ago. My Mom died two days ago kinda outta the blue and when I got home from the hospital (I had moved in with her when I came here) after I had 911 come get her and sadly, she didn't make it there. I needed some 'normal' so I watched your channel for hours. I started on my feed and seemed to only get a few mins. in a vid before I was like 'no, can't focus, next', on a number of vids, then got to yours and it was just...comforting and happy and light so I went to your main page and just hit play. Your cheery voice comforted me to sleep, and the next night when my brother had come down (he and I are kinda oil and vinegar but it was going ok), I did it again, and got to sleep. Now, the third night, as my life is imploding, I'm moving, I'm doing all the 'my Mom died' arrangements, what do I keep, how do I get rid of the rest and get ready to go to work again tomorrow, I'm gonna watch it again and likely sleep well. So thank you. You are a joy and something about you calms me and uplifts me, esp. at this crazy hard time where joy seems all but gone. So if you ever wondered if your channel was interesting or too silly or worth doing, the answer is YES, because you are unique and interesting and uplifting and an energizer bunny, seriously, how do you do all you do? I enjoyed watching in my down time before, but somehow now, you're a bit of a lifeline to normal and remind me that one day, things will be normal again and life will go on, so I thank you. For background, I've only spent 14 yrs of my life not living with her (19-27) as at 27 (after getting divorced and was living in MI), I told her I was moving to CA and she said "When are we leaving?" and I couldn't tell her no. She didn't want me to be across the country alone. LOL So 21 yrs in CA then she went to take care of my brother in MI who was dying of cancer and did in 2014, so she moved to near her siblings near Indianapolis as they were aging also and she'd missed so much being in CA. Anyway, I came here in late 2017 as she sounded sad and off and sure enough she was in the leave the stove on stage. Blood clot outta nowhere got her. I spent a lifetime making her smile and making sure she was OK, and now she's not here and I don't know how life looks without her in the world. You can't change that, obvs, but somehow you made it livable the last few days for me, and I thank you.

@@imscanon please don't say sorry. I feel very connected to you through your words. Almost like a sisterhood. My sister is a huge narcissist and has made my father's life so difficult so as a family we aren't close to her. My mom was such a happy soul. Even i feel lost without her at times. When I eat something good, I feel like I would have taken her to that restaurant had she been here. I just wanted to tell you your hurt in that message is exactly what I have experienced. I'm so sorry you didn't have a strong circle of people around you at a time when you were in so much pain. Now I feel fiercely protective towards my aging father. We found solace in each other and talk about mom sometimes. Just recall funny incidents in life and have a laugh at how witty she was. Sometimes we miss her a lot and I make her favorite meals. I'm an Indian and we generally like to stay with our elderly parents to take care of them in their old age. I had moved out after a fight with my mom at a young age. But i made sure I lived near them so anytime she needed to be taken to the hospital due to her failed kidneys and subsequent transplant, i was there with dad to help. We had just reconciled after my wedding and 6 months later a sudden stroke took her. I was looking forward to a life of newly built relationship with my mom. Something in your message just made me want to pray for your beloved mom and send you my love and hugs. Sorry for this long message. You were a good daughter to her. She will always bless you for all that you did, trust me. She will be your hiding force and protect you always. I can feel my mom does that for me

I’ve taken a flight from US to London and US to Paris... I agree 1000% with everything!!!! I had heard about the moisture getting sucked out of your face and it was sooo true! I took my face wipes, moisturized, and right before landing did a fresh face of makeup. Your description of drink and food service with the plane toning down, the screen slowly turning off, everyone sleeping... saw it all. My screen did stop working too at the beginning of the flight, so I definitely recommend a book or movies on your phone!! We called an attendant and they were able to reset it 🙏😂 so we were good!

Best advice I received for long haul flights (I frequently make the 14 hour trek from AU to the US) is make-up wipes to remove makeup on the plane, a hydrating sheet mask, and clinique moisture surge + heaps of water. Then reapply a light basic makeup on landing - I usually wait til landing and touch up in the bathroom; not like the lines to get through customs are ever short in the mornings :)

Great tips. I fly from EZE to SFO once a month, I kinda hate the people who stand up and walk around tho :p (you're on an airplane already, you don't need to "go" anywhere else!). My favorite tip is I have a backpack with wheels with all the stuff I can't have in my checked luggage, plus the stuff I might need if they lose my checked luggage (extra underwear, etc). Inside the backpack, I also have another backpack (one of those super light ones that fold into a tiny pouch), with the stuff I need at my seat, like the noise cancelling headphone, and the thing I use to strap my phone to the seat in front of me to watch movies (I've seen all the movies in the in-flight system). So when I get to my seat, I take the backpack out of the backpack, I put the big backpack overhead, and the small backpack under the seat in front of me, and I have only the stuff I need there, so there's room for my feet :)

First off, ...you are absolutely rocking that red lipstick! I agree with all these tips (except the slippers. I never take my shoes off on an airplane, ...gross!). Work causes me to occasionally take the flight from Atlanta to Johannesburg, SA. I never get on the plane (either way) without a bag of good chocolates (Dove or Bailey's) for the flight crew. I know how hard the crews work on one of those long flights. Making their life a little happier makes mine a little happier too. I don't do a box, so that each is individually wrapped. Much more hygienic on a plane full of passengers! ;) And you're right, pay a little more for a good seat that fits your travel style.

Those r great tips...especially the water bottle is something I never minded...but when I think 'bout it in hindsight...at least now I know why flight attendants get annoyed easy by a passenger that gets 2-3 drinks(soft drinks within an hour befur decent)...and one or two snacks...as heck, even if I mostly traveled on buiz but in economy, and the only time I could sleep was after bording...I could have considered that the food service mostly is at the beginning of a flight...so should I ever do this again, this is a great tipp, to avoid putting extra stress on the cabin crew...taking a drink n snack with me. The toothbrush thing I knew...and did...but shaving on bord I just did once...like my luck, I just had started and turbulence was hitting. Great video...super sure to help prevent some issues, and keep everyone relaxed and healthy.

Comfortable pants (definitely not jeans). My preference is cargo pants. Spare batteries for your noise canceling headphones. I carry spare AAA batteries in the headphone case. A pen for completing the immigration card you'll need to turn in before you collect your luggage and clear customs. If you can't sleep with your headphones on, (ex. side sleeper) then bring a pair of those foam earplugs that you stuff in your ear. They'll help cut down the background noise if you're going to sleep.

I fly Cathay or EVA and do 12-14hr flights regularly. They provide slippers, toothbrush, ice cream with meals, snack bar in the galley area, decent entertainment. I flew United domestic a while back and was shocked. Surprised I didn't have to swipe a CC to get TP. I do the M&M's too. haha

Stella, just discovered your channel and I love it! Thank you for sharing all of this! I have a question and I hope u will see this comment. I am traveling with my service dog soon on a long flight, I got the extra space seat, but where is the best to sit, isle or window with a Labrador?

Worst flight I was on was a non-stop from Denamark to Tampa and number 10 and 11 was my salvation..... The flight attendants were AWESOME!!!!!! but I was in economy and you know how close the seats are in front of you so getting up is difficult to say the least so the dehydration part does help with less bathroom breaks lol. What made it worse was we were returning from a whirlwind tour of England, France and Germany so we were worn out. Could hardly get any sleep because, well it just wasn't very comfortable.
