Not to mention I sold merch and was able to make a lil money and still have fans to this day,that still follow me... also hit up alot of upcoming DJs, they do alot of open mic showcase type shows

Living in Los Angeles, a lot of artists that I follow do these things when making an L.A. stop. It’s pretty common. Just book a show with an existing event (i.e. Low End Theory at The Airliner) and like the video said, make the flyer look like yours. Though Low End Theory doesn’t exist anymore, it was huge and a good stepping stone event. If you got booked there, you’re on your way to getting featured on NPR.

tried this for a band i was in back in 2016. I gathered intel about the events in my state and used a 30 day free trial on a site called Sonicbids to gather intel about events going on in other states nearby. Took me about 2 weeks to compile an 8 show regional tour but the group broke up before we even got to start it.

This is great advice and I've seen a bunch of artists use this strategy. I run a weekly Open Mic in New Jersey and we've been running for 3 years now(over 160 shows produced and we're actually celebrating our 3 year anniversary today) But many artists from all different genres have hit us to let us know when they would be in town and depending on if they fit with our format we usually make them the Featured/Headline Artist of that week. They come set up merch tables if they have it and build connections with our local creators as well as attendees who are there to just watch the show. The event is called Vibes In The City Open Mic Night. You can check some of the content out on IG(@vibesinthecity) FB(facebook.com/vibesinthecity) Twitter.com/vibesinthecity an our blog that we're launching vibesnj.com

I know this guy that toured with his band but they never cut an album and I'm not sure how successful he was. I have always had an interest in R&B music and was in various situations where my mom bought me instruments as a kid. My grade school started a Violin class, but I wasn't able to get the Violin. My aunt taught me piano when I visited her after high school. I taught myself the recorder and I learned to play more songs on the piano. I purchased a Violin also. I would like to have a manager who understands touring and has a plane. I don't know how safe it would be for a female. I don't know how lucrative this would be, but I don't want it to seem like it is all about the money. I've always had a passion for music, but I wouldn't want to go on tour if I couldn't earn a living being a musician. I'm not looking to be famous like a lot of other musicians. I would enjoy just being able to entertain a crowd. I was studying classical music but I wonder if I would have a better attraction if I studied jazz music. I know that I think about stage fright. I probably will faint or pass out or maybe just stand there in a panic.

Paying money to be seen ? The music business or any business that you don’t make money from the start will never get you any ware. Everything you do need to produce money. This is about investing to grow your money not give it away. Making a dollar out of $0.15 cents. If you don’t think that way how will you survive ?
@EranKious11 ай бұрын
So true, Brandman mentioned selling merch at the shows. Of course, as a music artist the bigger your name gets the more opportunity you have to monetize. Some of the largest brands today spent years operating at a loss so that they could get where they are today. Amazon for instance. Sometimes it's necessary to sacrifice a pawn in order to win the game.
