Isaac McDonald they have been working on this for months now, and basic Morse code and -really- basic forms of cryptography really isn't hard. it just takes time to do, but with all these websites offering solutions to ciphers it only takes a little while to find the correct one. hardest / most time consuming part of all of this was finding the actual locations of the clues because they're so tiny and the riddles are quite vague Cicada is multiple orders of magnitudes more complex and is expected to be done alone, along with having clues spread in capitals across the globe :) I do think the people involved in this have a passion for cryptography and wouldn't surprise me if some of these individuals partook in solving the Cicada logic puzzles that ended up on the public internet

For the Rail Fence one, you always use rails=5, but the offset will be different. and remember to read the message from the back. just enter the code, choose "decrypt", and change the offset from 0 to 7 till the message from the back is eligible

A good tip is to use noise removal in audacity with your audio file after using spectrograph. It will make the dots and dashes much clearer to see if there is unwanted background noise. The more times you do it the more noise it will remove from the audio.

FOUND THE EASIEST WAY TO DECODE ON CONSOLE First, get your mores code and record it. After that, plug in a USB to your system and copy the video file onto it. Next, bring it over to your computer and open it in audacity. (You don't need to make it into a audio file). Do what jack says and now u got your Morse code!

Not really, though. The complicated stuff has all been done already. If you're using this video (and the links in the description) as a guide, basically all you have to do is take the time to record and transcribe the Morse Code and run around to each of the locations it gives you. No part of it was hard for me, it just takes a couple hours (and doesn't have to be done all at once).

I finally finished this!! thanks so much! I was able to record the morse code with recorder on my phone. Email that to myself from my phone, convert that with VLC media player. Then load it into audacity.

took 4 hrs 30 mins in 1 sitting. i'm on Aussie servers so 0/64 was very easy (dice servers) used suez but sometimes had to rejoin the server as no headphones spawn some times. very fun, easy, just time consuming. looking forward to showing it off now :)
