I first heard this in 2011 on the radio, it was a live performance with a french singer-songwriter called Marie Pierre-Arthur on guest vocals. I was 22. I don’t know how or why this song has remained such a constant in my life. It’s the one I always come back to when I need to remember whatever this feeling is. I don’t know what to call it, but I think you know the one.

A friend of mine introduced me to Barr brothers a few years back while woofing at a medicinal flower garden in the Quebec appalachians. I remember that I loved the sound after a good day of flower caring and had forgotten about them since then. and just randomly thought of the Barr brothers tonight. Looked them up on bandcamp to listen to their music and potentially buy their albums. To my great surprise one cannot listen to their music on bandcamp. So here I am hopping over to youtube to listen to their full songs. Beautiful , soothing, their sound is calling me back to them.

I'm pretty into music and just found them today. I'd say they're not quite mainstream for sure. Whenever I find a relatively unknown band it makes me wonder how many great sounds were created over the decades, never really heard except for a lucky few.

Such a beautiful song. I listen to the Barr Brothers when I need an escape from life's everyday worries and stressors. I love how pure and raw their music is - something that going mainstream would surely impact. This is beautiful, haunting, hopeful, comforting. This song is a feeling without a single word that can describe it.

Me and the little lady stumbled across your set upon the Garden Stage at End of the Road; we stayed and were absolutely in awe. We then saw you perform this in the Tipi late at night and it quite simply cemented our love for you. You then came and sat next to us at the bonfire and my gal had to drag me away from telling you that I wanted your babies. That is life. Please come back in 2014. We will be installing some art in honour of said festival.

Steady woman won't you come on down? I need you right here on the ground I've walked the outskirts of this town Been terrorized by what I've found I saw a standing virgin bride Where holy Dionysus died She tore the heart out from his side And laid it there, and there she cried She said, "Hello, I'm a monster too." "What poisons me is what poisons you." Into these animals we grew But when we were young our eyes were blue I take my medicine on my knee Twice a day but lately three Keeps the devil from my door And it makes me rich and it makes me poor I'm a beggar in the morning, I'm a king at night, My belt is loose, But my trigger is tight May come without warning, At the speed of the light Make it shine so pretty Make it shine so bright I think I've come a long, long way To stand before you here today They're yours alone, the songs I play, To take with you or throw away Whoa-o-o-o, Whoa-o-o-o-o-o-o, Whoa-o-o-o-o, Whoa-o-o-o, Whoa-o-o-o (Away forever or fade away) Oh, I want an angel to wipe my tears, Know my dreams, my hopes, desires and fears We may capsize, but we won't drown Hold each other as the sun goes down I'm a beggar in the morning, I'm a king at night, My belt is loose, and My trigger is tight May come without warning At the speed of the light- Make it shine so pretty, Make it shine so bright.

The current South Korean political situations are so crazy that lots of citizens are super stressed out because of the dictator material new elect Yoon. I've listened to Barr Brothers music for some years and last night this song popped up from my playlist, which brought me to tears all of a sudden. This is a really effective antidote to everyday stresses. Thanks a lot for the great music, the Barr Brothers!

Your country is beautiful, and unfortunately dictators are clawing at the gates everywhere. Check out "Queens of the Breakers" which I've been hitting replay on lately.

@@shreddagorge Thanks for the lovely comment and recommendation. I'm really concerned that a lot of countries including mine are suffering under horrendous dictators lately. We're protesting in the candlelight protests every weekend but still, Yoon has 28% approval rate(untrustworthy survey!) and he's got the power of Prosecution. I just want the world to stay peaceful but it seems like an unlikely dream.
