I have always made PJs for my son, he's now 22 years old. Every now and then, when we have a day trip to the city, he'll ask if we can stop at the fabric store. In the past few years he'd bought Pokemon fabric, for the shorts, and a plain blue fabric to contrast for the top. He's also bought superhero fabric for me to turn into PJs. He has also asked me to turn his superhero tshirts into cloth shopping bags as he outgrew them. Good thing with the leftover fabric is he now has several Pokemon facemasks.

Oh that's so lovely, I hope my children are still as interested in my sewing when they are that old. It definitely gets harder to know what to make for them when they get older! Thanks for watching x

Just found your channel by accident - happy accident as I really enjoyed watching your plans and your fabric and pattern choices. I used to knit a lot when my children were small but I am hopeless at washing knitwear so gave up as I ruined so many makes. Seeing such lovely yarn made me want to perhaps try again. Looing forward to seeing your finished makes - I have recently finished a Harry Potter quilt for my granddaughter - it is definitely a popular theme and your son will love it. x

Great fabric and pattern haul Sally. The more you show the davenport dress the more I am drawn towards it. If you can I would like to see a sew along of the Chalk and Notch Blouse pattern. It looks like you are going to be pretty busy doing the patchwork quilt and the knitting projects. I have not read either of those two books and think that you have persuaded me to read them at some point not sure when but they are now on my list. Have a great week.

Thank you! Ah yes I do love the Davenport it’s a lovely pattern if you fancy a more involved sew. I’m hoping to do a sewalong of the Wren blouse so I’ll try and do that one. It is one id like to get done sooner rather than later. I see some late nights ahead with the quilt haha! Thank you for watching xx

I am sure you’ll have no problem with your sweater, it’s a lovely pattern. The blouse should look great in that fabric, very autumnal. Have you thought of the chalk and notch Fringe dress pattern?? I have just made it and I love it. I m just about to make a hug hoodie in french terry for myself and a siguaro top in double gauze for my daughter x😊

Hi Sally. Really enjoyed hearing about all your sewing plans and seeing your new fabrics and knitting kits. I think we have the same taste in colors and patterns! I really like the Autumnal fabric you picked for the Wren Blouse. I have just bought the pattern myself so I would be really interested in a Sew-along! Have you tried the Chalk & Notch Fringe Dress? Looking forward to seeing how your WAK sweater kits turn out. They look lovely!

Thanks so much for watching! I love that seersucker print so much I'm hoping the blouse turns out ok, I'll hopefully film a sewalong of that one soon. This will be my first Chalk and Notch pattern so I've not tried the Fringe dress yet but it looks lovely on other people x

I enjoyed hearing your plans. I need to decide what to make first as have too many! I think I’m going to start with a sweatshirt as I also like to keep warm. I’m trying the Jarrah view A as I also bought a metre of Atelier brunette like you did. I’m doing it in a pale blue with striped cuffs first so hope I can get it from a metre as you did. 😆I enjoyed The murder club although at first I found the setting a bit depressing, probably as I’m getting older! A friend I lent it to thought it was hilarious. The book I’m just finishing is called When I come home again by Caroline Scott and is about a soldier in Ww1 who has amnesia and follows his rehabilitation. This is very interesting history wise and very moving. So many soldiers suffered so badly at that time. There are lots of story threads during his story and parallels. I bought it in Waitrose one day on impulse. Many thanks 😊
@SecretLifeOfASeamstress3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Good luck with your sweatshirt, just be aware that the pattern does come up quite cropped, I’m actually considering adding an inch to my next version to keep me warmer around the waist in winter 😉 I get what you mean about the murder club book I felt that too at times. Thank you for telling me about that book that sounds very moving and probably one that’s a very worthy read x

I enjoy your blogs so I don't mind how long you want to make them.Loved your fabric and wool choices.When knitting I always have a small writing book so I can jot down where I am in the pattern.I'm not sure what the kit patterns are like but I've often found I have to work out the lace pattern when increasing or decreasing.I write these down and keep them with the pattern so I don't need to do it again.I'm looking forward to seeing your sewing and knitting garments completed.

Ah thank you! That is such a great idea and something I’m learning to do more often with knitting and sewing. I’m terrible for not writing things down but it makes my life so much easier when I do! Thanks for watching xx

More great fabrics and plans! I have the Wren top and dress pattern and am looking forward to making it. I'd love to see it as a sew-a-long. As for reading, it's always great to hear what other people have read and enjoyed. These two are on my list now! Have you read "The Gown" by Jennifer Robson? It is a lovely book with great characters and an interesting story set (in post-war London, around the creation of the Queen's wedding dress.

You have some really interesting plans to sew and knit and I love them all. Oh a sewalong of your davenport would be fab! I don’t know how you find the time to fit so many projects in, you’re so productive! I am also really interested in the knitting kits you have and hope you’ll show us all your work in progress. I am in the middle of knitting my first knitting project from them called the Yellowstone cardigan and I’m loving it so far. Thanks for sharing x

I got the Mind the Maker Slub jacquard in cream colour, when I saw it on your instagram. It is so much nicer, both feel and look, than any photo/video suggests. Also got it in Caviar colour too. So I’ll be making a sweatshirt out of these. Not sure what pattern yet.
