Ray is amazing. His reaction was so supportive and he stuck to his positivity. He also noticed that something was off with you, pulled you aside and asked if you were ok. Very sweet. I wish I could tell you otherwise, but the hate comments will keep coming and they'll likely be worse over time. When people can hide behind anonymity, they are willing to blast out all sorts of comments. I hope you'll remain immune to the hatred for many years to come. Just remember, those people are likely very unhappy souls and they just put their frustration onto you.

OMG he passed the vibe check every single time. It was not easy to watch because a lot of real life relationships have that kind of negativity as well as online comments. Me too!! 🎉 I used to write human since elementary school when we had to take those tests where you fill in the circles. The teacher would say, "No. You have to choose one - black, white..." I said, "But those are just skin tones, and they're not even accurate. There are not white people. They are various shades of pink and peach. And black people are brown. Hispanic people are tan." I held up a clean sheet of paper and said, "You don't look like this and I'm not like the chalkboard or a black crayon. Whoever came up with this was stupid." Nearly fifty years later, nothing has changed, sadly. People who buy into this skin defining identity or worth mentality are still stupid.

My husband and I adopted our 3 sons (we have 3 biological daughters then got the boys). They are biological brothers and are considered “tri-race” being 50% white, 25% black and 25% Asian. In one of our daily phone calls (before we brought them home) our oldest son who was 5 at the time, randomly asked me if I knew what “color” they were. I hesitated and then asked him, “what color are you?” He paused (5 yo brain probably looking at his arm and pondering the question 😏) and said, “brown”. I said, “oh good! Because I wasn’t sure if I could have a purple son!” Then I asked him if he knew what “color” we were (he did as we made a picture album for the boys identifying everyone in the family) but he said! “What color?” I said, “brown”. Then I told him to go take a piece of white paper out of “Daddy Ron’s”(foster dad) printer and hold it up to Daddy Ron. I said I bet he’s not white because all people are different shades of brown whether they are very light, peachy brown or very dark chocolate brown. The next day when we called, the first words out of our son”s mouth was, “Daddy Ron’s not white!” (hopefully daddy Ron didn’t mind that 😉😁)

I would take it as a compliment because I see a lot of hateful comments on highly successful people’s videos. I don’t understand why anyone would want to be that way, but it seems too common. I love to watch you and Ray dance, and it always makes me happy!

Hey guys! I come from a mixed relationship: my dad was from Zimbabwe, Africa, and my mom is from Slovenia; Europe. My parents married in the 1960s, when dad was studying in the former Yugoslavia and was one of the first Black people in the country. When they got married, they faced a lot of negativity. They moved to Kenya, and later to Zimbabwe, where I grew up. The negativity continued there. What is meant to bring you down makes you stronger. My parents were married for 53 years before my dad passed away. My mom still lives in Zimbabwe because it’s now her home. My mom feels most at home in Africa and is often time the only white person in the room. If they were to be asked to do it all over, they would be 100% committed to doing it again. I hope this inspires you as you guys inspire me. There is no place for hate, but it does exist. Use it to become stronger and more resilient. let it be you pseudo-platform! One love ! You guys rock ! big ❤ to you!
