Tithing, the practice of giving one-tenth of one’s income or produce, is mentioned in several places in the Bible, primarily in the Old Testament. Here are the key biblical references for tithing: 1. Genesis 14:18-20: Abraham gives a tithe (a tenth) of all he had to Melchizedek, the king of Salem and priest of God Most High, as an act of gratitude and worship. 2. Genesis 28:20-22: Jacob vows to give a tenth of all his possessions to God if God protects and blesses him on his journey. 3. Leviticus 27:30-32: The law given to the Israelites specifies that a tenth of the produce of the land and livestock belongs to the Lord and is considered holy. 4. Numbers 18:21-24: God designates the tithe as a provision for the Levites, who did not have an inheritance of land, in return for their service in the Tabernacle. 5.
