I have the latest iPhone 13 Pro Max running iOS 15.0. When I tried to swipe up the live picture, all I got was the location map showing up below. Multiple attempts swiping at various locations on the screen did not help. I eventually went to the Apple site for help and found out the procedure that works. Just follow this: Open the Live Photo. Tap the Live Photo button Live in the top-left corner, then choose (from the 3 options available): Long Exposure (Simulates a DSLR-like long exposure effect by blurring motion.) The other 2 options available (when you tap the Live button) are: Loop (Repeats the action in a continuous looping video.) Bounce (Rewinds the action backward and forward.) I hope this info is useful for those who have the newer phones and iOS.

iPhone capability with regard to long exposure is fairly limited. It does not compare to the potential you have with a DSLR camera set up.

I am a professional photography and have used my dslr cameras to take long exposures many times and yes, lots of equipment, filters, time. I didn’t realize the extra processing options within the iPhone photos app. So cool! And the location you are photographing is amazing. Unless I missed it you didnt say where it is. Yes, you can take long exposure photos using the Pro Mode within your Camera app. Select a long shutter speed all the way to 10 seconds (or perhaps shorter, depending on how much blur you want). With your phone, you will want a tripod or a solid surface to prop your phone against so as to get a sharp photo. If you're interested in learning more about mobile photography, you might want to join the iPhone Photo Academy course. You can also use the wired headphones as a remote trigger so you don’t touch the iPhone if you stand it on a surface. Just open the camera app and press the volume button on the headset - it’ll take a photo.

You're very welcome, we're glad you enjoyed it! You're right, you cannot shoot a Live Photo when capturing in the ProRAW file format. However, we wouldn't recommend that you use ProRAW for every photo you take, it eats up a lot of space on your iPhone and you only really see the benefit if you're going to edit your photo.
