The point at the top of the Washington monument is made out of aluminum. This was to honor GW. At the time aluminum was more expensive than gold

This episode was very enlightening and informative… I’ve visited Washington DC probably 3 times and really enjoyed learning about Arlington National Cemetery, Library of Congress, National archives, Smithsonian, the capital bldg campuses and the bureau of engraving/treasury, but this episode exposed me to a huge wrath of historical figures and their actions that I was not yet aware of - thank you 🙏👏

There are original survey stones that mark the boundaries of Washington DC. If memory serves there are 17 spaced at 1 mile intervals. But that could be wrong. I lived in DC for a short time in 2010 and always wanted to go find them. There are original Civil War trenches and gun positions in Rock Creek Park which I did visit. Also, there is a statue of Taras Shevchenko, Ukraine’s Nations Hero, that is worth a visit as well. I really miss DC so much history and cool places to explore!

This was really cool and well made! I was just there a few weeks ago and decided to just start walking in a direction and it's honestly the best way to see the city. Could look down into the DARPA offices from my hotel room!

So, im sorry if im wrong or not funny. Are you from the New York area? I would say Jersey. But I understand thats like asking a Guatemalan if their from Mexico..... or someone from Michigan being called a yankee...... P.S A idea to do Detroit. That place has some interesting history. Like why is it on I75 at exit 69, you get off at Big Beaver Rd......

Whats sad is it had music... I just had the track muted when i exported it.

@@MasonObscura oh no I meant that I like it when there’s no music. At least when it’s subtle enough to where it’s not noticeable, one of the things I like and commend about your channel is the distraction free listening experience.

Alright good to know, I'll keep that in mind. Music seems to split the viewership

Your sarcasm is entertaining, but I suspect that a surprisingly large amount of viewers don't get it.
