I feel sorry for the players who started playing on day one, and had to figure out all this sht on their own. I tried to figure out the shadow puzzle in Yaesha on my own. But I had to still search up a guide to figure out the RULES of the puzzle. Remnant from the ashes had puzzles and secrets like this too, but were a lot easier to figure out and people could actually accidentally find them. Like talking to the white root tree with the root mask on.

They had some hardcore playtesters trying to unlock archon during the late stages of development, and at a collectibe 2k+ hours between them, they were about 1/3rds of the way to get archon. So the devs added more steps to make it about 4× as difficult...its meant to be discovered by dataminers, or as the devs called thwm in their tweet "the people who can see between worlds" It also fits given the games odd digital theme in regards to the foundations of the universe.

I really love the grind for secrets as it gives you something to do after unlocking the apocalypse and hardcore rewards. Those items aren’t necessarily good like the labyrinth long gun but it’s nice to have for someone like me who likes to collect different items and build random loadouts to play with. All the best weapons aren’t really secrets so if you just want to have a really strong load out you don’t need to grind for them the only problem being the rng for good rings and amulets

This is what makes remnant so amazing all the puzzles and hidden secrets. It’s very wee made when something is right in your face and yet you don’t think it’s could be something of a major effect on a game pass it by 5x tell one day you get close enough to see the secret and start thinking I wonder what else is missing… this just helps the replay ability and most things I find actually have me thinking of new load outs and strats. You pretty much described my experience on the game. 😂 It was on Game pass a few of years ago and I downloaded it for me and my sons to play. The older of which took to it. I made two different characters. One to play with him and one to play when I was alone. I thought this would also let me try out the different classes that you get to choose in the beginning. Once I realized our worlds were completely different, I regretted making even a second character because I realized I would never get everything even on just one. We would put in close to 200 hours and then put it away for like a year before coming back and playing again. Eventually even taking on hardcore. We did that three or four times and eventually got everything. So as soon as Remnant two dropped I knew I was only going to be making one main character and one hardcore character. And I was right there with the community trying to figure out all of the secrets and sharing the stuff that I found and taking advantage of the stuff that they found. No single person could ever figure out even half of everything hidden throughout these games.

If they didn't make that cube boss a main story boss I'd be more inclined to do multiple playthroughs. It only took me like 15 attempts and I got it ironically after switching to multi player hoping an extra angle of fire would help. But nope, he died within 2 seconds didn't even fire his gun, and left just before I got the last one and won. So he contributed nothing and got nothing for it. If he had just waited 20 more seconds dude would have gotten a sick sidearm. Loving that cube handgun because I never need to worry about ammo. I've lost so many boss fights because I ran out of ammo and have to switch from 100% of my focus on the boss to searching for ammo drops while still dodging attacks. It's mostly the random enemies that spawn that screw me. And because it has infinite ammo 99% of my drops are heavy weapon ammo so it's easier to keep that topped up. Haven't used it in a boss fight yet, expecting it to kinda suck but it will be handy in them regardless.

I usually have a one hour rule after fully exploring areas/dungeons. I would try to find some of the wildest hidden areas. I'd either do some parkour, listen for some secret walls or have to shoot random things to get an item. The wackiest area in my opinion were definitely yaesha and the labrynth. Yaesha was understandable to miss things but to think I had forgotten the Leto Armor set :/

i’m playing though it right now with 2 of my friends and we are loving it so far. i’m sure we’ve already missed A TON of stuff but maybe that’ll entice us to play a second playthrough sometime. we refuse to look up anything on the game and just got passed the ravager and the doe. out of curiosity we agreed to look up what would happen if we killed the doe instead and found there’s like 4 or 5 different outcomes to that one encounter. that’s crazy

I dont regret looking up some of the classes. Archon is one. Engineer could be found if you're bored enough, but it's obscure enough that it's unlikely and also not possible on hardcore without a sacrifice.

Engineer is on N'erud in the outskirts of the map, either in Eon Vault or Titan's Reach depending on your roll.

@@themonsterunderyourbed9408 If you take a look to the edges of the map, you cannot reach it safely because of the fog unless you roll spam, however in that specific ledge the edge of the map do not stop there: the fog does not harm you just yet, meaning you can keep going. The same could be said with Alchemist which is more likely to get by accident rather by through exploration. BTW who in their right senses will search for engrams in hardcore mode?

If you are a completionist it makes sense to look up how to do it, it is impossible unless you were the game and level designer to find everything in games like this especially because it is heavy rng.

The thing is, easter eggs and secrets are great, however, if the game offers no indicator for you to know that killing a boss a certain way gives you a different item or something like that - then it's just not "well done" in my opinion. So far a lot of stuff i've seen is so crazy that you wouldn't even have a chance to find it on accident...

I agree with this. Dark souls 1 had it better, you could get a weapon from any boss with a tail if you cut it during the fight, so you actually can die on purpose if the boss doesn't have enough hp left. I wish something more clear could be done here, I lowkey dislike the idea of procedural generated worlds, I feel like the manually crafted areas from FromSoftware games have a bigger nostalgia factor and can give more replayability value in a way.

the archon class is the most insane secret class you have to unlock with all the good work from beta testers how in the world do i know i would able to unlock it only from 2nd playthrough after i get my "Explorer" class, cosplay as 1 of the Founding member from remnant 1 with a specific weapons and not only that i have to find the "right" door, teleported to a random place with a count down of 30ish seconds to find that class or else u have to reset the whole adventure again. remember whenever you look up on getting those secret solved by the communities...there are people who put their time and effort to make it easy for all of us to access to

Having beaten the first game twice with a friend, we knew this one would be loaded with secrets, so we decided early on to look up the secrets of each world before leaving them. A lot we just bumblefucked into, but some are just too well hidden for that. Especially when some things can only be obtained in certain world rolls.

You definitely didn't ruin anything for yourself when you looked up the puzzles and mysteries. The devs definitely wanted the player base to think outside the box, but I bet a few of the devs wanted us to go further than that and have some crazy patience. Look at the pistol from the king dlc, the void heart, the meridian, the thaen seed, even the boss from the forgotten kingdom

The archon class was the only one i had to look up, found all other classes before the last world. If youre a veteran rpg player the subtle hints at some of the secret unlockables are there. I will admit some of the secrets are nearly impossible to do without looking up but i would say as someone that as 100% the as of yesterday, i did about 70%-80% without looking anything up.
