No kidding. Talk about clutching pearls. Caps had way less potential energy than a Black Cat that kids bought by the hundreds every 4th of July. The little sparkers that were part of some toys presented a much greater fire hazard. It's just pussification over time.

This was a great re-imaginging of the original figure. Loved the Thunder Punch effect piece, too. Would love it if DC published a trade paperback supplement of the last five mini-comics. I really enjoyed the Vintage figure, too. I dunno if anyone else had this problem, but my original Thunder Punch He-Man's backpack broke, but it was one of the metal pins on the wheel that snapped off, so I could only fire seven caps in a row, then rotate the cap-ring one place and fire the last cap. Heh. The scene where Luke says "I present to you a gift..." with Beedo skulking in the background on the left. Love it!

But y'all somehow managed to make the Classics figures look exactly as cool as they were in our memories. ...I hope that made sense.

It does make sense, for some reason the Classics buck captures the essence of vintage MOTU that charmed its way to all of ua adult now. The Classics buck, no matter how most people claim that it is already outdated now, is still unmatched by the current MOTU Origins line (I still think soon Masterverse line will still not match it). I can't wait to see what Origins does for him. I still want to get ahold of the New Adventures version, but he's so tough to find. As for the caps, I think dynamite is a huge leap, they are just small amounts of gunpowder really. I hate that something as innocuous as caps has become like brand poison or something - I still see occasional cap guns at dollar stores and shops. One of the coolest parts of existing in the 80s and 90s was playing with caps - still brings me joy today! Moms are unreal....and so are the neutered childhoods of these soft kids today

Come on now, caps didn't use dynamite. They generally used "Armstrong's Mixture". Which is more unstable than dynamite. ;) It's a bit overly dramatic to suggest that caps were/are a safety hazard. It's certainly true though that toy guns in general have stopped being viewed as socially acceptable (for better or for worse), and that's probably the biggest reason for the decline of cap based toys. I would suggest it's probably also relevant that children playing outside unsupervised has also become something viewed as unacceptable, and parents were never especially keen on the noise and smell of caps indoors.
@spectorcreative18723 жыл бұрын
Not that it was a safety hazard but it was something large companies stated away from, like magnets
@agentvx83203 жыл бұрын
@@spectorcreative1872 Loose magnets are actually significantly more dangerous, because a pair of swallowed (strong rare earth) magnets are a potentially lethal hazard.
