Insane finds bro! I just thought I would comment, I’m a huge fan, your one of the only detecting channels I still watch and honestly have watched every single new video you have uploaded the day it’s come out for the past year, absolutely love them, such enjoyable content with such great advice! I’m over in New Zealand and the South Island ad well so sadly pretty medium defecting at best, however thanks to your videos always get inspired to keep going out and are slowly building up my stash of silver and gold, the one good thing about NZ is we have $1 and $2 coins as commonplace and it’s relatively easy to get $20-100 worth in a day, anyway im rambling, would just like to say thanks for the inspiration and the amazing content and can’t wait for the next one! I can bet I’ll be watching. Cheers 🤙🤙🤙

I just had a total hip surgery on July 10th. I'm just over 3 week past my surgery and I'm walking around like I was 20 years younger. The scab has completely closed and the Dr cleared me to go in the water. Technically he told me give it 10 days, then he said let's make it Aug 10th until this one little freckle size scan falls off which already fell off so this upcoming weekend I'm doing my first water hunt in over two summers now. For the first three weeks just keep your leg pointed forward no crossing legs or lateral movement and you'll be fine. As long as you have good muscle tone going in you're gonna do fine. I hope everything goes as good for you as it went for me. And I turned 60 in July so I'm not a kid anymore, I just feel like one now. Good Luck my friend

@@jeanponce2017 That sounds fantastic. I'm a little scared, but excited at the same time. @jeanponce2017
@jeanponce2017 Жыл бұрын
@@TheWildwoodPicker Your gonna be fine mine was the anterior approach also. The only pain you'll feel is mostly from the swelling. The hip pain is gone right as you come out of surgery. I had waited a long time because of battling work comp insurance so it took longer because he had to grind out and smooth where bone spurs damaged the pelvis area. If you wait you'll have problems with lymph nodes in the groin and possibly a hydrocele in an area I shouldn't say on a non adult site. Hint your 2 things will become 3 and it's very painful. If you have groin pain it also goes away. I had 4 lymph nodes swollen bigger then quarters and I always felt sick because they couldn't catch up with removing the lymphatic fluid caused by the bone spurs grinding away soft tissue so go get it done you'll be home the next day believe it or not. But seriously it causes other health issues beyond just bone/joint issues. Good Luck and you'll be out hunting within 2 months.

@MetalDetectingNYC
@MetalDetectingNYC Жыл бұрын
I had some huge days at the beach with the Apex. Its lack of separation and allergy to iron made it a mediocre choice for land though. You will see a big difference with the 700 over both detectors in separation. Perhaps another 2 inches of depth and light years better separation and utility in iron.

Merrill your friends ring caught my eye. He said ots 18k but 375 is the European hallmark for 9k. 18k is 750. I have a ring hallmarked 333 which is only 8k. I got robbed on that deal lol Nice hunt I get to go out this weekend for the first time in 2 years. Im gonna do a creek hunt on the weekend but I might try to hit the surf next week. I'll be pulse inducting I dont mind the iron I have my best chance at gold with the pulse inductor because chains and earring are easy so if its not a ring gold is technically gold I'll even take a broken piece of chain to get on the gold board a week after my return back. Soon you're gonna need a new ring case and thats never a bad thing. Good job again I hope you keep them coming all year long
@MetalDetectingNYC
@MetalDetectingNYC Жыл бұрын
I always learn something from your comments! I see that you feel that pulse does better with chains! I have found so many pendants without the chain!
@jeanponce2017
@jeanponce2017 Жыл бұрын
@@MetalDetectingNYC The pulse inductor with a smaller coil will find a BB. I have 3 pieces of the same bracelet I pulled out of a salt water bay. And post earring are no match. You just have to go at it realizing your going to dig small nails. After years of using it I kind of learned to tell the difference in how the audio drags out longer on big iron. Small iron or non ferrous pops. Big iron drags almost like a pinpoint type of effect but it's subtle it takes getting used to. I'm gonna try to figure out how to make videos with my water hunts to show hunting the creeks. I'm thinking of mounting a GoPro on the canoe. Just the trip alone is nice you see all kinds of crazy wildlife out there on the water. Then there's the animal life lol. I give you credit on making videos I tried a couple times one handed with a phone and that's just crazy it had me cursing which I don't want to do. I guess either a head mount or a chest mount may be best for land or shallow water but some spots i'm chest deep like under rope swings so the camera would be going in and out I don't know how that's gonna work. I might have somebody help me and just video for me to start it off a few times and get suggestions how everyone else does it. That's my only hang up now I know it's gonna take time to get it down good. But I'm gonna try. I know I can do quick one dig videos for Tik Tok and I have enough followers to go live so hopefully I can get it started this year so next year I'll be half way decent at it. At least I'm pretty sure I still have the spots that still produce some colonial things so I'm not starting out fresh like many people are. I was out of commission for too long so I was going nuts there for a while but now I'm settling down and feeling better and I'm stronger then I have been in years. Hopefully I can start out with some decent finds relatively quick. I can only hope anyway

My theory on dry sand finds is this: People set up their blankets, take off their jewelry and set it on the blanket. End of the beach day either they forget, or someone else in their party unaware picks up the blanket, shakes it off and the jewelry is gone. At my local lakeside beach I've found tons at the line in the grass where people set their blankets.
@jeanponce2017
@jeanponce2017 Жыл бұрын
There's no doubt this happens. I was canoe detecting down my favorite spot and when I stopped at a popular place near a state park after hunting the water I hit the sand before I hopped in the canoe to the next stop. I hit a strange large kind of broken up signal which flashed solid blue lights over each broken up area. The detector I used the whites BHID tone ID's but it also has 3 lights to help confirm the ID a blue light for copper coins or silver, yellow for gold and nickels and red for iron. Every broken signal stayed blue. I kicked the soft sand with my foot and I saw a silver chain. I figured no wonder it was broken up. I swept over it again and still beeping broken blue signals. Then I pulled up 2 silver bracelets and a gold "looking" ring. The ring turned out to be gold plated sterling stamped 925. I could tell by the footprints in the sand that someone was sitting there on a blanket and they just dumped their jewelry in sugar sand and that sugar sand eats everything. I found a Fossil watch one time that I think was a towel drop being it was barely covered. But truthfully most of my jewelry finds come out of the water and under rope swings are like finger pick pockets where it's not uncommon to find a few rings under any given rope swing. My biggest 14k mans gold bracelet I ever found came from under my honey hole campground rope swing. I'm actually so 3xcited I'm going to that campground next week. First time back hunting in almost 2 years I had a successful total hip replacement and I feel like I was reborn. If all goes well it might be my very first video👍. Don't give up on the gold you probably haven't dug any because it can ID lower then a nickel like can slaw. If you ever feel like superman one day or a weekend and dig ever positive signal or non ferrous signal you'll hit some gold. They don't scream out loud unless they're a big chunk and possibly has silver in it. Good Luck I hope you get your gold this summer
@MetalDetectingNYC

I believe that as well. But I believe more that the most valuable finds will continue in the swim areas.
@jeanponce2017

@@MetalDetectingNYC Absolutely when I was younger I would rather wade in the surf for those cuts with the gravel and shells but you can take a pounding it the waves kick up. I don't know if I'm up to that unless it's sitting still between tides because I wear a weight belt because if I don't when I go to kick the scoop in I just bob up instead of kick the scoop down so that weight cancels out the floating which let's the waves give to a butt kicking after a few hours. I would try to get them before a storm washes them up on the beach where there's a half dozen other guys out there at sunrise looking for them before I even get out of bed some days lol My finds up on the sand are a small fraction of what comes out of the wet sand. Plus I spend a lot of times in fresh water creeks where people have canoed for 100 years many of those spots can't be reached by car so they're not pounded to death. You would believe how many people roll the canoe over and dump everything including whole 6 packs of unopened beer. That's like a tip after a long day lol

@@MetalDetectingNYC I hunt fresh water on lake superior. ITs almost all in the water, very few drops on land where I am because people can park their cars so close to the beach. @@jeanponce2017 I find overcast days are best for hitting the water. Less wave action without the sun contributing to winds. I'm in Lake superior but it can still get pretty rough even with mild winds. Makes it tough to grid the honey holes when you're being bashed around.

Merrill seems every time you go out you dig about 500 holes , do you ever get so tired that you just pack it in or does adrenaline kick in when you hit the good stuff and give you super human powers? You find so much good stuff the adrenaline coursing through your veins should make your body look like Spiderman!

Merrill, I only started MD last year and have found about 10 rings. My wify has confiscated 2 of the best ones. Has that happened to you too? BTW she went from "Another expensive hobby?!!" To "Go find me something nice".

Yep if you don’t show up your chances are zero. Are you noticing more Detectorists out this year ? My Beach was slower in early part of summer now it’s hammered , I often wonder on the days ( Mondays ) when I go and find squat if my channel somehow reveals too much information and I haven’t encouraged local competitors 💁🏻‍♂️ have you ever wondered that you have done that to yourself too ?
