I’m sure they tried to avoid storms all together by having good meteorologist skills and I know they only went on pirate missions when it was summer

Mike Nottis that is what I’ve heard, but those sails didn’t quite look like it. I wondered is the warp might have been flax or nettle making it linen which is tougher when wet but not as easy to spin and ply as is wool. For a sail for a dragon boat the combination might be good.

Fish and emergency supply of food. Water was a problem, they had some but probably needed rain to supplement it. Sleeping was no issue plenty of space, perhaps a problem when going back with plunder. They had an amazing toilet called "the sea".

e causey True enough, I guess there may only be two shifts like 12 on 12 off, seems like the sleep one might encounter crossing the freakin ocean in one of these things might be awful.

They settled there later on, I think. But they weren't native to Finland. The Finns had their own language that wasn't Germanic, and their own mythology.

It must have taken them ten years to build each boat taken into consideration tree felling. taking it to the assembly area, feeding the workers, cutting the wood, trimming the wood, building the boat, smithing the iron nails, raising the babies of the group, hunting the elk or deer or whatever to feed the group, and then assembling it. Wow.

I didn't know vikings know to speak English language! I think the story have more credibility if the producers make the film in them language, english is not an universal language, is just my opinion.

They're showing clips of the TV show Vikings. Only the audience hears it as English, but they're speaking Old Norse. When there's scenes when they meet foreigners, we hear their actual main language.

This is sooo deceptive! No one has EVER seen a viking longboat! They only found a piece of wood that had originally been a viking ship however, although preserved under the sedement at the bottom of the water, was totally crushed!!! They than asked an artist to paint a vicking ship, he said how do I do that when I never saw one? They told him, if you were a viking, what would your ship look like? He painted a painting from his imagination and they than took the crushed wood, pressed here, added pieces there and viola! A viking ship!!!??? How do I know this? Because the people in Scandinavia, including the museum who printed the book sold neer the exhibit clearly state this as they are simply honest people!!! It’s ALL science fiction!!! Stop the lies!!!
