@@oranperkins5807, I'm JUST seeing your response!!! I've been my Cameo kick for a couple of weeks now, and this song came to me today and I was scrolling through the comments and came upon our exchange, LOL. Thanks for the correction, but I'm pretty sure the lyrics are; Who will tell the story that's yet to be told? Who will tell the children that they, too, grow old? When will we learn that nothing's forever; Realizing all men must live together? Seekers of truth we must all be, Opening the eyes of those yet to see, Cause if we are to know and love one another, Secrets of time we must discover. How can you stand there and let people do what they do when you know that it can't work for us all? Time is short, and we must pass secrets of time, The world's your's and mine. . .

this song at this time in 1982 after they had first dropped 'Alligator Woman' which upped the ante and answer back to Rick James 'Super Freak', this song part of the culture then when you listened and were nice surprised by each song This one out-did Prince's effort at jazz fusion and rocker music and then still was way Funky and mack-ish... Watching cats smoke sherm to this jam and kick it like lamp-posts in the Filmore, and the hard rock cats trippin too on Cameo, Wow, 80s folks dont hear bout

"BLACK Bands" Rarely get remembered for songs with conscious themes. Using EWF as the go to example for versatility isn't enough. It diminishes our creative history. Many are surprised when they hear a Black recording artist say they weren't "allowed" or were discouraged from "writing them deep songs". Now... not every non commercial song produced is on the level of Angelou, Dunbar or Baldwin. But with such a rich culture of revolutionary literature you'd think we'd highlight our conscious side more. This short tune is followed by "I Owe it All to You" on the album. The two songs closing the album are speaking simple truths. Not necessarily deep. But they leave you in a better place of hope and gratitude.
