We just booked this resort for December and now seeing reviews about mold. Did you experience that at all?

No we didn't notice any. We thought the resort was clean and well kept. Sorry to hear that some people might be noticing it, we really loved it!

If you do not have the preferred club status what are the limitations? Are there options to upgrade on site?

I believe you could ask for an upgrade option at checkin. As for limitations, the only things I can think of is that the bali beds at the beach are either reserved for the preferred club or you have to pay if you don't have preferred club (I'm not sure which), and no oceana for breakfast. Oh and no preferred club lounge - which is suppose to give you better drinks. There might be some other items that are exclusive to preferred club also, but these are the top ones I could think of.

We are going here end of August and we go to a lot of resorts but it’s always a debate as to how much to tip and when. I either tip to much or not enough, like what is the right balance?

really whatever you think is appropriate. Secrets advertises that your tips are included in what you pay, so technically they are saying you don't have to tip. We always take tip and I normally tip with fives and more at dinners. I have some tipping strategy in our video for secrets puerto los cabos if you want to check that out also. thanks for watching. We loved Secrets Playa Mujeres, the service and staff was top notch. And the upgrades were fantastic. My wife loved the Dreams resort next door and wants to take the kids there. It's nice having both resorts next to each other. But Secrets Playa Blanca is another level in my opinion. It's much nicer and obviously new. For me Playa Blanca is better hands down. Except maybe the drinks needed help when we were there. It reminded us a lot of Impressions Moxche. Just very nice and luxurious and we felt spoiled from the minute we arrived.

How much do you tip while at an all inclusive hotel?

Tipping is really up to you. Some all inclusive resorts say tips are included - check their websites to see. But the common sentiment is that if a server provides good service to go ahead and tip them. For us, I normally tip $5 for drinks, $5-10 for bellman, and a little more for meals and butler if we get one. We do run through tip money pretty quick most of the time - but a lot of our trips are basically free using reward points so spending on the tips is easy

When we were there the pool cabana rentals for the day started at around $100 I think, and then it went up from there for extras. The beach cabanas were complimentary for preferred club.

We haven't been to this Secrets. How do you compare it to Secrets Maroma? Secrets Maroma and Secrets Akumal are the gold standard for us, but we like to try new resorts. I'm interested in your opinion. Thanks for the video.

Ok so wow that's a loaded question - A Lot to unpack! Not sure I'm going to be able to squeeze it all in. Secrets Playa Mujeres is great! I love the big views of the ocean from the pool area and our room and the easy access down to the beach, but the bali beds at the beach are set behind a sand dune so not the best. Maroma's beach was the best tho - you're right it's the gold standard - was my favorite part of the resort. At Maroma I didn't love the resort view from our room. I think PM has a better building layout for getting great views all the time. PM has great great service, I think better than Maroma. Just be ready for the golf cart rides, and waits, to and from dinners at night, spa, fitness, etc. We haven't done Akumal yet but really want to, I'd love to know any tips or advice for that one. We have Secrets Tulum coming up shortly and just got back from Secrets Playa Blanca. Wow - for Playa Blanca! I think we actually liked that one better than Playa Mujeres. I'd put that one on your list for sure. Reminded me a lot of Impression Moxché. We spent a week at Maroma earlier this month. We are UVC Diamond members so we always get Preferred rooms. Our room at Maroma (Building 16 4th floor) had a spectacular view of the resort and the ocean. I agree that the service could have been better, especially from the wait staff at the buffet and at the pools/beach. I'm glad you made the point about the golf cart rides and waits at PM. That might be a deal breaker for us. I'm anxious to see/hear your review of Playa Blanca which I know is newly opened. Secrets Akumal has the most beautiful grounds of all the Secrets we've been to. It's a pretty large resort (no golf carts) and the pools go from dead quiet to medium to lots of music and activities so you can have whatever vibe you'd like. Service was top notch there as well. I subscribed to your channel today. It looks like you visit Secrets resorts a lot. Thanks for your reply.

Well we love Cancun - it's an easy flight for us and we have found some really good flight deals lately. We saw that Hyatt had included Secrets into their loyalty program so that was a win for us. We kinda alternate between Hyatt, Marriott, and Hilton, but have really been happy with the quality of the Secrets brands - probably the best so far for all inclusives. Congrats on the UVC that sounds great. Thanks for subscribing! I hope to have that Playa Blanca video out sometime soon. Also don't let the golf carts at Playa Mujeres deter you we never really waited that long so it wasn't a big deal. And keep me posted on any awesome places yall go that I need to check out.

@@danielmoran7442 I thought it was great and I'm sure they've made even more progress since we were there. I'm sure that goes for all the plants and vegetation also. It's a great resort and one of the best in my opinion.
