Entry routes to working with govt Direct and lateral entry to govt job. - Direct entry like, taking up exams and interviews. - lateral entry like, Working as SMEs and private consultant. 2. Perks - Salary and allowances. - perks depends on job you are doing, changes from place to place you're working. 3. Work pressure in govt job - Challenges are there. - working with people is not easy. 4. Job security - it's not like you are permanent employee and you won't be removed, this was once a situation but not anymore. - you can be removed as well. 5. Exit routes - many opportunities to work with private sectors once you leave the job. 6. Likes and dislikes of job security. - likes are, chance to bring change and work with big people and politicians. - High exposures towards real world problems and challenges. - dislikes, you'll be asked to take up exams and interviews again if you leave the job once, age limit to take up the exams is also there.

If one seeks government jobs just for his personal benefits and chose not to work atleast for the salary they are paying then they are considered to be more or less as uncivilized creature. Everyone should have work ethics this is my opinion.

Great video busting the myths associated with government job. I wanted to ask in your honest opinion, do you think working for clearing upsc is a great idea? I am general category person recently graduated from IIT Mandi. Since the number of recruits are decreasing (and only 40% open seats now) and it is highly based on luck as well, I am not sure starting with another rat race is a good solution.
