I disagree, you are victim. You are a great artist and you should never let someone make you feel guilty about that. Its they're loss and you have nothing to apologize for. You're teaching this lesson in pen!! Thank you for these tutorials.

There is certainly a time to step away. But never stop drawing...you will get to a point where your mind stops blocking you. I went through years of fighting myself and struggling through pieces. It is always a battle, but you will hit a point where you have enough confidence to just let the piece flow. At least for me, my mind turns off and the whole process flows. I still struggle with aspects, but it is more composition these days with me.

I wanna thank you so much for these videos, I used to draw with my dad when i was younger and he was an amazing artist. However as i got older he unfortunately distanced himself from me. And sometimes when i feel lonely i put on your videos and i draw with it in the background and it makes me feel like im drawing with my dad again. Thank you so much ♡

Consistancy feels like such a massive hurdle to overcome.Just trying to keep the composition, let alone details, similar at different angles really needs a certain vision and understanding of the shapes.

If you're sending in art for an action game, you also want to pay attention to body dynamics. Does it look like the character is swinging a sword, or just posing?

My suggestion. Dont get a gaming chair. Most are not made for your ergonomics, theyre just hyped and marketed for easy money. Better get a good office chair with alot of adjustable things. And don't sit too much. Honestly i would suggest a standing office and a hight adjustable desk at best

The Void is great Lovecraftian horror! It was made on just over $80,000. Note: If you give someone with talent $80K, they can make a better movie than a committee full of idiots for $300,000,000.

Hello Bobby, I just recently bought a Prisma black colored pencil to put a layer on my drawing to seal the graphite as you recommended. Do you just do a light shading on top of the drawing with pen and it is good already? Not sure how much to put. I have never seen you do this in video and maybe you can show us how you do it. Thank you.
@bobbyrebholz21837 ай бұрын
Glad you got one! I've done it in several videos in my creature design playlist and Drawing Lessons. Apply a nice coating after you already did the pencil. Then, apply pencil back on top.

Are there positions out there that are the concept artist and the 3D modeler put together? I wish to be a concept artist, but I'm in 3D animation for school. Should I think my decisions again?
@bobbyrebholz21836 ай бұрын
There are. However, it's best to specialize in one of those areas but be able to do the second if necessary. For example, there are character concept artists and "character artist" positions. Character artists are almost strictly 3D modelers. If "concept" is in there, it's 2D. Companies love when you can draw/paint 2D but also bring your work into 3D in order to help the workflow.

It is so almost impossible to get a drawing job for a studio you work for or comparable to. It is so oversaturated it’s unreal. I went from music to artist and failed on both and failing sucks. I was good and these people are freakish bc it’s like the NFL or NBA you’re literally getting paid to do music or draw everyday. Good luck whoever tries but you better be the 1% of the 1%

You're a teacher, right? Do you think that different types of people gravitate towards sketching with lines versus sketching with shapes? Have you come across students who struggled with lines but then seemingly had a much easier time getting the initial thumbnail in with blocks of shape? Because that's the point I'm at currently. Struggling a lot with proportions with lines and it's not fun. But at the same time, as a beginner, doing everything with shapes seems too hard because lines allow to establish everything within the silhouette so much easier. Weird, weird, weird.
