I have really exciting news to share about a certain family of Line 6 products that we all know and love, but I was told I can't say anything! All I can say is that it'll be announced on Chad Boston's channel in a few days: kzbin.info Put it this way - Chad & Line 6 are holding a ___________ (fill that in with your own imagination) to celebrate 30,000 members on their FaceBook group - "Line 6 Helix Family User Group OFFICIAL and ORIGINAL." Join us over there if you haven't yet! Always lots of great discussions and helpful content being shared. facebook.com/groups/line6helixusergroup

Great work! Thanks for sharing your insights. I know from experience that I can spend hours trying to figure out what to do and change with my Stomp XL. It's nice to have someone share some of their knowledge. I'll look into your bass preset package! What would you do if you use a bass amp as well as a send to the mains? I was thinking I'd just put a Send L block right before the Amp+Cab to go to my bass amp.

Happy to help! Sometimes I have effects after the amp/cab block in my presets so if you wanted to use them with a live amp, I might suggest moving the amp/cab block to the end of the chain and then doing what you suggest. You'll want to pan one output one way and the ampless signal the other so you can use the left and right outputs respectively. Or, if you have an acoustic amp or a similar full spectrum amplifier, just commit to using the built in amp and cab simulation and you'll still have the amp for on stage monitoring.

Great but how does it sound in a recorded mix ? Have you done this ?

Great tutorial! I'm always pleased with how easy it is to get great bass tones on the Helix. I was wondering if you've ever found a use for the Xenomorph fuzz from the latest update. It's absolutely not my jam and I'm a little upset Line 6 spent the time and space to emulate this pedal (but I might not know how to use it right). Thanks!

I haven't tried playing with that one yet. It's intimidating for sure, but where there are that many controls available out of just one effect in the Helix, that's great for those of us with the smaller units. Maybe I'll have to explore a bit and go over a few of the different ways to use it.

Thanks for the walkthrough. I'm gonna try this out next time I make a patch. Any new updates for your preset library?

what is the difference between the compress and limit "type" on the la studio comp? is the limit more abrupt?
@AlexPriceMusician2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Generally when the ratio on a compressor is more than 10 to 1, it’s considered a limiter

I wonder how it sounds if you make a split via frequency/crossover like the darkglass x ultra and the EHX big muff de luxe.
@AlexPriceMusician3 жыл бұрын
Probably even better. I did a recent video on making us of the Split Crossover for bass. I'd say it's the most important recently -added feature for bassists. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jobFYZqZmJash7s
