Here in Australia, we have a product called Contact which is a type of laminate which comes in a roll. Though surprisingly, I haven't come across any videos on it on youtube. It would be similar to these pre-cut sheets except that it comes in roll form.

ROFL I can totally relate, my favorite first time user instructions are when you get a book that's like 20 pages for an electric pencil sharpener, but it turns out it's only half a page in 40 different languages, and the worst are when it's 5 pages in one language in print so small you need a magnifying glass, and it's so confusing you have to read it 4 times and watch a video before getting started right.
