Fr fr W video. Ngl i've actually been QUITE good with Marth and am even potentially considering the character as my new main.

I think when people say he's inconsistent it's for things like at 2:08, you aimed to tipper mewtwo's hand, but the z axis said nada so you whiffed. If you were to then space for the head sometimes an arm'll stick out and you'll sour. Stuff spaced to tipper on hit will sour on shield, and stuff spaced to tipper shield will whiff on shield drop. That dair to fsmash at 2:10 is supposed to tipper at that percent against middleweights, yet sours. I repeated it in training mode and you can tipper, whiff, or sour, simply based on which tumble animation the game chooses, and this is just on Mario, just at one percentage. Setups to tipper even stationary shieldbreak victims are still dependant on character and what animation they're currently in (and is still not fully consistent), and this is all in a game where everyone can move a thousand miles an hour and hurtbox shift half a meter in a single frame I main Marth but it's definitely just for fun, he can be good but I wouldn't pick him if I were playing to win. Despite having way more hours in him than everyone else I play combined I perform consistently better with other characters where you get most of the reward, none of the drawbacks, and require way less effort. Heck, Aether dropped Marth competitively

Hey, I think your friend's "spyder-sense" just describes fighting games' universal notion of conditioning. It's great they've made this such an important aspect of their gameplay! A good example of a follow-up video to make or link on this topic might begin with how to condition common double jump timings, for example.

Loved this. High-level Marth play is super fun to watch and as a long-time Lucina player I've always thought about adding a Marth to my repertoire to change things up from time to time. Appreciate the tip(per)s!

I’ve been experimenting with him for the last year or so and I’ve got some more tech if you guys need some clips at any point. Fire video great to see more believers

It's still sad Marth has huge potential in Ultimate, yet nobody could use him in such a way that proves everyone wrong about him. People are still discovering stuff for the character nowadays and I really hope they find good techs. As for me, I still fail to land the most basic f smash combos so a long Marth journey awaits me.

As a Marth main since Melee, I wholly agree with your assessment. TBF, Lucina is for lazy players, and while you can take her to tourneys sooner, your skill ceiling is low enough that you'll get outpaced before long. Marth, however, requires time and discipline, and he rewards you with a higher skill ceiling that lets you best opponents that would otherwise wall Lucina.

I think you could've gone more into more techs like nair1 fsmash and possible uses. Using more pro play clips would help a lot too.

Rizeasu doesn't even believe Marth loses to anyone, and he's the best Marth lol. I think Rizeasu is just super good. Marth does lose some MUs but none of them are unwinnable. Knowing the MU will allow Marth to win all of them. His only potential -2 MU is Greninja or Sheik but even they are doable so idk.
