I've been talking about luck on the AGS forms for new world. It's a joke. What it seems like lock does is increased a quality of the item that you receive or a chance of an increase. I'm currently forming a harbinger set and I've noticed if I remove all my luck gear and put on focus gear things start dropping a lot more. When I put on my heavy luck gear, the drops are primarily potions. I would love to know what the calculation is for their luck.

I agree there’s definitely some parts of the luck system that do not function super well and seem to be backwards but having some more understanding of exactly what they have set up in the luck system would be very helpful

I was averaging 2 scarabs a day from ONLY khep and Helios before I got a full luck set + pearls slotted where I can + 3 major loot trophies, not only do I average zero scarabs now, but I ACTUALLY haven't pulled a single Lego from a chest in 2 weeks. Luck is either completely broken and always has been worthless, or I am VERY unlucky.

On top of this, my guild mates all have had maxed out BIS luck sets with trophies and world buffs, and I was still getting 1-4 scarabs per day (average of 2) before I got my luck set and they were averaging 1 scarab per day (from JUST Helios and khep)

It is possible that the scarab doesn’t land in the loot pool for luck gear it’s hard to say with luck on new world without having more knowledge of how ags has it setup. There are several parts of the luck system that I think are broken as well and do negative effects to luck as well

That’s cause glyph chests have the worst odds for golden scarabs. Also luck doesn’t affect rarity of gear.

If only you woudl read Scarabs are under LuckSafe, so luck doesnt do almost anything for them 4% to 4.3% when ma xluck stacked.

I got the bloodsucker sword multiple times after removing my luck set. Killed the bear naked with just one non-luck weapon. It was insane. The other two people did the same and they got better lot too. I then farmed all the luck weapon there is. If after ten tries with luck set on and getting green bags, I woulf exit the game and relog,. That sometimes work, and when it doesn't, I'llequip non-luck gears and it works. When that doesn't work either, and there are other people garming the same mob, I go naked, and sometimesit works lol. I do this cycle every 10 kills. I got all named luck weapons in one single sitting. Also, turning on pvp works great for me when farming scarabs in acid pools, because pvp adds 10% global loot luck. Nonetheless, luck is broken in new world.

Thanks for the effort very helpful, i hope your theory is right about different hours different drops, im farming corrupted rage set and got helmet in morning ( on my day off) so i got that out way hopefully afternon and nights drop gloves and boots which are ones im farming from that one boss

It is not about specific hour. From my experience it seems that luck does go up after you stay for like 1-2h in given area. And then it drops again and after another period goes up. At least this is what i notice on boars farms.

maybe the number of active players on the server at that specific time was lower or higher and the luck is affected by that? I've noticed that my luck is improved if more people are also killing the mob in different groups, compared with soloing with no one else around...

I'm wondering if it's like a certain timeframe of killing the same amount of mobs that it starts kicking in a Pity system to give you more drops. Instead of giving you like drops at a specific time maybe it gives you drops after certain amount of time

Could be after a certain amount of time In an area or certain amount of kills but I’ve also seen people go dry on drops for a very long time but maybe they just didn’t hit the time or kill requirements of whatever system is in place

I was wondering about a cumulative luck bonus as well. You could have a cumulative luck system where say, every time you kill mob x and don't get a drop, you get a luck bonus increasing your chances of getting a reward from reward bucket "A" and "B", but then when the chances are highest (say after farming mob x for 3 hours), you are still more likely to get a reward from bucket "B" that is more common (say the, hammer) then, say a reward from bucket "A" (the sword), after which the cumulative luck bonus for the mob resets.

@@kestrik yeah and I'm also sometimes wondering if there's a dedication system where like after a certain amount of time, you have a countdown of how many drops you can get before it resets. I recently farmed some Harbinger pieces and never got a drop for two hours but then got three in one hour. Tested it on a different day at a different time and had very similar results but I've only tried it twice

When your talking time are you talking game time or the actual time. I'm in UK so we are different time I've done the bear for over 70 hrs between 0900 to 1600 and never got the sword😢

I’m talking actual time I’ve spent a lot of time farming there solo and with some buddies to get their swords. But I think that there’s definitely certain levels of luck that are helpful. But that’s part of why I’m trying to see if there’s any patterns or hours that are better for drops because of the crazy low drop chances on some items and keep at it I believe you can get it

It could also be that the reward algorithm takes into how many drops have occurred that day (24 hour period) to ensure that a rare item always remains rare and multiples aren't dropped all at once. This 24 hour limit period could reset at the same time ever day. So, everyday at 10am, the cumulative reduction in drop chance resets. I have seen this with an MMO I played in the past. Players consistently saw more drops at the same time every day.

Then we could not farm same named item few times per day. Anyway everything about luck was alredy discovered long time ago if u go farming something have as much luck as you can.

If you are trying to work something out then you need to say more than "seems like waves" and "you will get some" otherwise you are just adding to the random guesses and speculation. E.g. you don't say how many kills

We have the knowledge of what the results should be, without full data then it's impossible to say if you saw anything outside of RNG.
