This lesson ... this is gold right here! Most compositions; even the most complex sounding ones use one or more of these d choral harmony techniques. I did request, a while ago, that you do a lesson on this subject, and voila! Here it is. Your analogy that at least one hand, and logically the left-hand, has to be the engine and play subconsciously is absolutely spot on, from my study and practice I've found that the pieces that I can play well are the ones when I'm only consciously thinking about one hand, and not both at the same time. This lesson dovetails nicely with your previous "what not to do with the left-hand" tutorial. Nice one!

Hi, J. The Soprano (MELODY) is the Top note of the INTERVAL. The Alto is the 3rd Below the Soprano. The Tenor begins the 3rd Below the Alto "ON THE PIANO". Where would you play the Descant?
@nathanielschool2 жыл бұрын
It's generally above the Soprano Adrian. But we could just consider it as an additional part over the SATB section!
@adrianbrome66522 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Was I correct when I said, "The Soprano (MELODY) is the Top note of the INTERVAL"? Or should I have said, "... is the Top note of the TRIAD"? Would it be accurate to say the 5th, 3rd & Root of the TRIAD are RESPECTIVELY representatives of the Tenor, Alto & Soprano (in Written Sheet Music), in the Right Hand?
@adrianbrome6652 Жыл бұрын
According to your section on 'Chordal Harmony using Alto & Tenor Voicing' which begins at 27:50, the Tenor can be played either a Minor 3rd above the Melody or a Major 6th below (its Inversion) the Melody. RE: Writing the SHEET MUSIC, if that is the case, where would the DESCANT Note be written on the STAFF? Is it the Major 6th note that you would choose to write as the Top Note (TENOR) on the BASS CLEF Staff?
@reziahamed66542 жыл бұрын
Really outrageously enjoyed every bit of it Jason... The rhythm at last could really inspire a guitar pattern too... Much appreciated ! I really have a eager request - you being a composer... Would you fancy displaying the different rhythmic parts (played on the left hand & the right thumb) using other vst instruments using a simple DAW ? No need of troubling yourself teaching the DAW specifics.. but this could inspire the viewers with a broader context of how your lessons be useful to play other instruments as well.. A wonderful channel called "Jake Lizzio" does it to showcase his guitar riffs as well.. Thanks Ever so much Jason... 🤓 Much love..Rezi....

When you are toggling, your notes seem to show for LH that 5 finger holds for a bar and 1 finger the 4 &s, ie a full bar. But does that mean that the melody slow down? I am trying to count in 2 chords in each bar that your notes show for the melody, what do I miss here? thx Jason, superb content as usual!
@adrianbrome66522 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your instruction, Jason.
@nathanielschool2 жыл бұрын
Most welcome Adrian 😊 Yeah the Soprano could be the Melody note played mostly as the note note of the Triad. Changes in some cases when you want a Descant part to go above the Melody line
@adrianbrome66522 жыл бұрын
@@nathanielschool Again, THANK you for your reply. I see you typed the word "note" TWICE. Just for clarification, was the 1st "note" intended to be the word TOP?
