I would like to encourage you to start using the word “account” rather than “story”, because-when we say story these days- people hear “myth” or “fairytale “, which turns the mind away rather than focus on the point being made.

Sad to say that peer pressure is not limited to a person’s age. We’ve lost or given up our critical thinking skills, which means that words matter. Since there are so many people who look for reasons to doubt or disbelieve, the clearer we are in our speech, the better case we can make. In terms of semantics, giving an account is stronger than telling a story. I’m not sure why this would upset you. I merely made a suggestion.

Pastor Bohr, the brutality of men towards men in the bible was totally different from the brutality of men towards women. A man against a man is of equal strengtth, but a woman was defenseless against a man physically, as well as socially. Physical abuse towards women consisted of basically telling the woman to be silent and accept what would happen to them becasue the King wanted them, or someone wanted a woman and ended up sexually assulting her at will. Sin is sin, men do fight men, but women had no defense except when being protected by a male relative. I thing you missed this one dear brethern.

The "man to man" reference wasn't gender specific. It means "human to human," "mankind to mankind." When man(kind) doesn't follow the ways of Lord, but the ways of the flesh, evil happens, period. Because of Eve's sin, she was put under the dominion of her husband, who was to protect her and lead her spiritualy. However, men have misabused the role God gave them, and tried to use the role as justification to why they treated women so poorly. God didn't condone this practice. However, He allowed it to occur as a testament to how evil sin is. Just as He allows drunk drivers to kill innocent people, and murderers to exist. The full extent of Sin must be allowed to play out so when the New heavens and new earth comes, sin will not rise again. Why? Because every creature will have seen the fullness of the evil that disobedience to God's perfect law brings.

@@Momma_Tomma I don't know how you interpret what was said, so I won't argue with you at all. The question had to do with the brutality of how a woman was treated by the man who considered her to be his concubine. They did say that brutality of men to men is wrong, but, in this way they were able to skim over what happened to this woman, and women in general and put it under the same umbrella of human to human as being evil becuase they don't really have an answer for what was done to this woman. The cruelty done to women in the bible was disgusting. Jesue was the one to show how they should be treated by healing and forgviving them . Rape was not dealt swiftly with by Jacob, but Dinah's brothers handled it. Ammon's rape of Tamar was not handled by David, but, two years later Absolom took care of it. A man could divorce a woman if she were a bad cook. Please, these two men did not handle nor answer the question but flipped it around to include mankind to mankind. Mankind to mankind brutality is wrong, but the question was not about mankind to mankind, but brutality on a WOMAN at the hands of MEN KIND. Saddly it was not addressed, not at all. All that you said about Eve and misabuse of men doesn't give these speakers a pass, at least not with me. I am not f feminist, do not belong to a political party, do not vote. I am just a woman who has seen and heard in this present of the brutality, cruelty and dangers that we as female women or girls face everyday world wide. I could go on and on but I think you get the message. These men didn't want to go from the bible to present day. They should have.
