Hi Christa, really glad to see you again! Life has a way of getting really busy sometimes I know. Just love the gray poncho, it is gorgeous. Would love a tutorial on it. I have made two ponchos this winter from the slightly thinner 3 ply yarn. They came out good and are basically just 4 large granny squares joined together and trimmed. I dont make a lot of new year resolutions, but do want to work through all my stash and get that whittled down. I have made 2 scrap afagans and a few hat and scarf sets to donate to our homeless shelter. I hope to make more for them this year. Winters are cold here in Maine and a warm blanket or hat can be good to have. Looking forward to more of your vlogs as time allows. I enjoy them.

Hi Gail Happy New Year! I hear you about busting the stash down... my main goal this month too! What colors did you use to make your ponchos? Would love to see pics on our facebook group if you could post some. ;) What pattern did you use to make your scrapghans? Chat soon! Christa. xx!

Enjoy your vlogs. How is the echo situation? Try curtains, rugs, etc. to help absorb extra sound reverb(echo).
@SecretYarnery6 жыл бұрын
It's still awful, Sharon! I've moved the camera closer. Already have the rugs and curtains. Now saving up for a camera with an external microphone plug - apparently that is how the problem is fixed - proper gear! :) xx!!

Hi Krista. I’m roze. I’m in Oklahoma City. I’ve been crocheting since 2013. I’m just beginning to make my first blanket. I’m doing it in big squares with a different motif on each of them and then will join them all together. We’ll see how it goes lol. Also I have these old crocheted poinsettia placemats idk where I got them and I’m looking at the stitches and making new ones just to see it I can. I enjoy your clogs and look forward to seeing ya soon!

Hi there, I think it is a great idea that you learn the kids to crochet, I can only do knitting but do needle work to, and can do machine work, and I love Cross stitches. But my 2 daughters don't want to do it. And I think it is going out, these days the kids just want to be in front of a computer playing games. I'm busy with a project, I'm knitting beanies for new born babies for the hospitals, I'm giving it away, and I'm not getting the wool for free, I buy it myself. I love all the wool that you have. May I ask from where are you getting all the wool? I'm from south Africa in the eastern cape.😀
@SecretYarnery5 жыл бұрын
Hi Retha Verwey! I buy my yarn online. Try adding 5 packs of yarn to your shopping cart and then check out the shipping: it's right at the top end of the bracket - 2.4kgs - and $32.90 USD via UPS to Africa. Give it a try! bit.ly/2IiGf6c

What yarn brand/color did you use for the completed dark grey long shawl wrap?
@SecretYarnery6 жыл бұрын
It's Wool Twister in "Grey". Our own brand. Wool Twister goes from thin string like yarn, to thick nobbly yarn, and then back again to thin. But can be made with ANY yarn that you love. xx!
@margritm6 жыл бұрын
The Secret Yarnery Thanks! I’ve actually seen this brand recently in our local Joann Fabrics. That’s very cool to know who/where it comes from. I live in Virginia in the US.

OMG!! You are cracking me up!! I am SO the same way! Start something..no..change to another yarn...no...not that one either...change again...and again.........! LOL!!! So nice to know I'm not the only one who does this! I'm guessing, like me, you have some OCD issues! Ya think?? Comical, yes but can be so frustrating also to those of us who deal with it! :)
@SecretYarnery7 жыл бұрын
Mellody! You crack ME up!! Lol! Two peas in a pod. I blame my "indecision" on living in a Yarnery.... wait till you see the hard core color fails of episode 15! The things I would make with the yarn I had... SCARRING. Not a word of a lie! Now I have to go unbury and reclaim my sofa... SO alarming!! Ha ha ha! What's on your hook(S)?? ;) Chat soon, Christa. Xx!
@mellodym59317 жыл бұрын
Currently, I'm making dishcloths and a shawl. :) The shawl...I had to be difficult and try making it with practically "thread" yarn so it is going to take some time to ever get it finished but it is coming along beautifully! :) YAY! Dishcloths are a fun "take with me" project I can do when my hubby is driving or when sitting in a Dr.'s office, etc. Oh...and I'm in the process of making a yarn wall with all the cakes I'm making with my new Stanwood!!
@SecretYarnery6 жыл бұрын
Oooooh.... a Yarn Wall of CAKES!! Dreamy!!! LOVE my Stanwood. Dishcloths are on my list of things to make too - but was thinking more along the lines of face clothes. One day! lol

Oh... I am the same way when it comes to kids and water! As a former paramedic, I know it only takes a couple of minutes for a child to drown. I can never relax when my grandsons are in a pool... Constantly counting heads... my daughter’s oldest (of four boys) nearly drowned...at a swimming lesson.., I was the only one aware of what washappening...because my eyes never left Michael..,and I saved him. Another child actually drowned in the same pool.,just a couple of feet away from his mom... So.. Yiu have to be vigilant... ..,
