In this episode of India Upfront, Rahul Shivshankar will be discussing the outrage over the 1991 Worship Act. The Centre has been ordered by the Supreme Court to state its position on whether the Ram Janmabhoomi case's Constitution Bench has already decided the Places of Worship Act of 1991's legality. Rahul Shivshankar asks Congress' Lokesh Jindal what was the thought behind the introduction of such an Act. 'The govt aimed to provide positive safeguards to the minorities & keep India's secular fabric intact,' Mr. Jindal says. "I believe each party has legal right to seek repartitions of its property & it won't amount to hotheadedness", says Sai Deepak. 'Secularism is the most abused English word as far as Indian discourse is concerned,' he adds. Tune in for a full discussion.
