Hi Matt, thanks for the great video. I do encounter a small problem: at minute 33:55 when it comes in the "Tools" menu to the Security Check Pro and I run it, it says "your site does not support SSL". I therefore went to my back-up and re-instated it and did your tutorial again. The result unfortunately remains. I am with Site Ground as well and have enforced https for a long time now and it shows correctly next to my domain name (and also the padlock). My site is encrypted with "Let's encrypt wildcard". Any advise or is this one for Siteground directly?

Hi there! Thanks for the question! That is odd, because when SSL is correctly installed (SiteGround does this automatically) then it should work. Well if the connection is already secured, don't bother with Solid Security settings, its alright if its not turned on 😀

No problem, its great that you ask for more details. You SHOULD use Solid Security, but you can just ignore the message that the site does not support SSL, as it is clearly supporting SSL 😉

SolidWP is a great plugin! I am using the pro version for years now. Seen an overloaded database once in the past, where 60 days of logging was to much so I set it for remembering 30 days max.

Unlike Wordfence, the scanner does not include a malware scanner. Feels like a big point they are missing. A few other things that Wordfence just does more or better so still not convinced to make the change.

@@WPressDoctor Is has file comparison, vulnerable plugin check with (wpscan and-or) patchstack these days (in pro, dont know about the free version.) Though, it compares the files against known files if freely available on WordPress (I think they dont do premium plugins and-or themes) In that way it differs from an scanner that crawls the server files for known malware and known hack-tricks like JavaScript/Base64 and backdoors. WF does have an scanner, it does not see everything. And it needs the right selection in order to work well. (last years it had an malware search and a quick scan) Ik remember hacks in the past where WF checks where flagged green by the hack XD yes, all is allright here said WF.

Should we use the public IP provided by the hosting provider for our site, or the normal internet IP address? If we add our ISP's IP address, it is a dynamic public IP address that keeps changing. thank you for this video ! I have a problem. I installed it and now it keeps locking me out as soon as i activated again just as you shown in the last seconds of the video. I keep changing the name, getting my wordpress back, but as soon as I activate the plugin, it locks me out again. What to do?

Hi Ersi! Thank you for your question. That is a bit strange! In this case it seems that your IP has been permanently banned... that is not good. You can deactivate it, login, and delete the entire plugin including it settings. Then you should re-follow every step to get it working again. I think that is the route I would go 😀

Hey, please could you give me some advice? I always set up Solid Security for all sites as per your video, but when I run a site scan I see a cross next to a few things - Plugins, Themes, WordPress Core and Google Safe Browsing. I see these crosses always and for all sites, only for the password I have a check mark... what could be the problem? I can't find anywhere how to fix the problems.

Hi Shazia, thank you for your question! In this case it seems that the plugins and themes are outdated. You should update them, OR they have been hacked, but I doubt that...
