For your information, I am from the Netherlands (Europe) and I am 52 years old. I have been following audits in America for about 5+ years because I find it interesting. I follow, among others, James Freeman, AFA, LIA, Press NH, Mass Accountability, DMA Ely, etc. I, as a European and specialized in a specific professional group (safety management), where I learn every year and again and again to be up to date of the latest state of affairs, I am always amazed that a professional group such as a police officer knows so little about his own profession and especially the laws and regulations that form the basis for being able to practice his profession properly in good faith. Whatever profession you work in, you will have to master the specialties and/or specific laws and regulations of your profession in order to practice it as best as possible. It often seems to me that officers simply have insufficient knowledge of legislation and regulations. Sergeants often know more and enough, but their ego can often be a hindrance, which also comes across as anything but professional. Therefore, your comment about children is somewhat justified, but it stems from the fact that they know nothing or too little (just like children) to do something well and properly!
