Nope. A camera is showing what is available from his window. It is legal to do that. If she doesn't like it she can install a higher fence. If he were my neighbor, I would do that just for the pool. And then I would become his friend, so if he saw some criminal activity he would tell me about it. Surveillance cameras are expensive.

This is exactly how my brothers ex neighbor was. Literally put up cameras facing DIRECTLY at my brothers house. They spent hours in court and having cops called dealing with this psychopath neighbor. This controlling and unstable monsters living amongst us every day.

Yep happens more often than people think. My fiancés best friends parents have been in and out of jail for even talking in their own backyard. Neighbours have cameras that record audio, which is illegal where I live. You cannot have audio cameras. The cops don’t do anything. They just take them to jail each time the neighbours file a so-called “complaint”. Last time I checked in with them, they spent about 30k on lawyers fees fighting to get the neighbours cameras removed.

I tend to agree that, while it may make the neighbor uncomfortable, it's impractical to get all uptight about a camera that is only recording what is fully visible from his own property. If you want privacy, you have to go somewhere private.

It's not reasonable doesn't mean it is illegal or actionable. Notice how the plaintiff did not deny the condoms or dealing charges. Google maps takes overhead shots of her backyard sue them too then. Also her daughter is no prize to look at. He wanted to catch them throwing the condoms over the fence, that's all.
