These videos have helped me loads with my decision to get trained as a handler would a Dutch herder be too much dog dog for me as a first time security handler ?

Hey Lucy, good to hear the Channel is helping you out. It’s very hard to say if a specific breed is to much dog for a certain person, due to how many factors there are. I think you should look at it like this - ‘No dog is to much dog for anyone, if the training has been put in’. I’ve seen small females with big dogs (of all breeds) have no issues, because their obedience is so on point. I’ve also seen regular sized males, who have issues with regular sized dogs, because maybe their obedience hasn’t been their most important sector of what makes a compliant team. When someone says, that’s a lot of dog it usually means it has some obedience issues that require a firm hand on the lead from someone with experience. So I suppose my answer is no, they aren’t to much, aslong as you are willing to put the hours in with training. Hope that helps ✌🏻
