Security guarantees from the EU: how Ukraine sees them

EU ambassadors agreed on a document describing security guarantees for Ukraine. This was reported by the German newspaper Welt. Thus, the agreement is planned to be signed no later than the beginning of July. The agreement covers political, military and economic assistance. Of the EU member states, seven are ready to provide security guarantees to Ukraine.

Wasn't there also "security guarantees" when Ukraine abandoned their nukes? Security guarantees are temporary alliances of the weak kind. We must support Ukraine as fast as possible, up to and including its own military production, until our own local fascist dictators block this support and strangles democracy!

On the simplest basis Ukraine needs support, a pragmatic first them then us. An idea that Kiev's geographical neighbours understand very well. Putin and his regime is not a problem that can be postponed, this is an immediate and current threat, the attention of some may be distracted, conveniently, by other events but 38 Million Ukrainians are facing, essentially, the occupation, destruction and again writing from history of their Country. This Stalin or Mao like editing of human history should be absurd in our age, its a Tuesday so I'll use a crayon to change national borders, there are many good reasons why the British Empire is history, chief amongst them is that conquest for conquests sake is pointless. There is no endgame, no ultimate prize or objective just a constant increase in graveyards and coffins. Putin will lose his War and his soul, if he had one, the Global West will rebuild Ukraine, in time President Zelensky will retire and have a less stressful job like running a TV Production Company.
