Very interesting and ancient city, was known as 'Purushpur' in ancient times - "The area encompassing modern-day Peshawar is mentioned in Vedic scriptures; in ancient India, it served as the capital of the Kushan Empire under the rule of Kanishka and was home to the Kanishka Stupa, which was among the tallest buildings in the ancient world. Peshawar was then ruled by the Hephthalites, followed by the Hindu Shahis, before the arrival of a variety of Muslim empires."

Some Kms away, birth place of legendary khuday khidmatgar Bacha khan Baba and poet painter Ghani khan. Peshawar has Gigyanis, Daudzais, Khalil Mohmands n Afridis plus Mohmands. Must hv visited great khudai khidmatgar Haji Bilour. It used Kaspapora but now pekhawar . Regards
