@@neonelrodriguez5425 In my case, no I'm not running my sounds through any external effect. All the sounds are coming directly from my laptop (which is tucked to the left side in the video). And I appreciate the offer lol, but you shouldn't have to do too much, it's a pretty basic setup. You just need a solid DAW/software (Ableton, Logic (Mainstage), etc.), maybe some plugins (which you can search and download online), and some type of midi controller/keyboard to trigger all the sounds you have within the software. For this song just be sure to have a fairly bright piano. You can also layer a pad and maybe another synth for the upper melodies.

Preciate that man, my patches are mainly a combination of sounds from Reason (Reason Studios) and effects from Ableton (cause they're the best!). I like a lot of analog synths, so using any retro plugins with a nice verb can give usually that big sound. Sorry, I don't have a tutorial out, maybe something for the future.. Stay tuned. Thx bro

Phenomenal cover! I'm going to play keys for this next week and I'm wondering if you could kindly share some info? For the tight side chained arp in the intro, as well as the sequenced arp that you bring in at 3:25, are those triggered by specific left hand notes? Or does the sequence initiate itself with 1 trigger and you don't have to worry about continuing it once pressed once? Thanks in advance brother 🙏

Thx bro, you have a good ear. For the sidechain effect I have preset an inaudible loop in Ableton and linked it to my pads in Reason, so the compressor works actively as I'm playing, no triggers needed. As for the arp that you hear on the bridge, that is a loop I decided to add because it felt a little empty in the mids with me on the high melodies, so it's automated to fade in during that part. Jason Ofori That's awesome man, and thanks so much for sharing! I am only using Mainstage 3 so unfortunately I don't have as much functionality, esp with automation. I'm trying to think of workarounds though lol. If, on the off-chance, that you have any suggestions with Mainstage to achieve a similar effect, I'd love to hear it! If not, no worries, I know it's a completely diff program 😅. Looking forward to hearing more of your covers in the future! 👍

@@sedriczhiggory No problem. I'm not exactly sure how to get these effects in Mainstage, but I'm assuming you could possibly transfer the patches to Logic and maybe use the effects there. I doubt that's very convenient though. This video that might work: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4bKfqSYZ7hoarM I also sometimes use a plugin called Kickstart by Cableguys which automatically sidechains the input. Again, I'm not very familiar with the Mainstage software so I'm not quite sure about the compatibility of all of this, but I'm sure you can figure something out. Thx.

Hey! So this was actually just a phone mount clipped onto a mic stand. Now, I have an overhead camera mount clamped to my desk, and that works well for recording quick covers. Hope this helped. 🙏🏾
