This is a true depiction of the horrors of marriage. Marriage at its best is not glamorous. It's hard work. Thank you for this story. ❤

Didn't he work? When you went to work, why did you go home? You don't seem to know to run away with your life. How do you love an abuser? The first time he hit you should be the last. You Nigerians love to honor marriage over your life. The days he became angry and set the wedding date was the biggest red flag.

At first I pitied her, then I thought when she’s ready, she’ll leave. Some people are so blinded by love they forget life supersedes love.

If there was no abuse during the courtship, then there was no way Ego to know the man was going to be an abuser. But once they were married and the abuse started, and Ego tolerated it, why would it end? Abusers are cowards who test the boundaries of their victims.

He showed his sign on the day he called her a blabber mouth and told her it’s not necessary to have a church wedding. He desperation made her blind to that first sign

You cannot make these kinds if decisions out of desperation. It is always good to test things by waiting. Just a lil bit. Things will reveal themselves. The pastor was telling Ego that in so many words. But even if you choose wrong, If it goes left, leave. Don't ever sacrifice your happiness and joy just to keep somebody in your life that don't care about you or his children living or dying. Come on! This was so sad. ❤

This is what happened when you think you are smart by boycotting God to do your own things without hearing from God. if you commit your courtship into the hands of God and you prayed genuinely about it God will definitely give you a sign if is your husband / wife. nice story i hope people will learn from it

Does the Bible say you must be married in a church? Listen to Reason! No it doesn't. Though If you ask a pastor or the church they are likely to tell you otherwise as they can't just admit they are enforcing a bogus practice. Hebrews 13:4 “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.” That's as close as you get modern day marriage ceremonies but it isn't even guaranteed that it should be interpreted as requiring one, marriage is simply a union between man and wife, there is no ceremony necessary for one to have a union and all it asks is for the marriage to be held in honor which pretty much just means be good to one another. The only times I can remember are: 1) Jesus’ attendance at the wedding feast. Jesus' mother was there, 2 and Jesus and His disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to Him, “They have no more wine.” 4 “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. Let it be remembered always.
