In short, Nani recommended keerthi for this movie. Director narrated story, keerthi said yes. But also director asked keerthi to put on 10-12 kg weight. But She was unable to gain weight due to other movie shootings. So, finally just 5 days before shoot, director asked Nani if we can replace keerthi with other heroine. And Nani was like, this is ur 1st film, she is national award winner. U can't do that. After completing shooting of movie, director told Nani that casting keethi as 'vennela'was the best choice of the movie.
