😂 Fine. Fire another volley and see what happens. A Patriot battery consists of 11 different vehicles spaced kilometers apart. 8 launchers, a radar, a command, and a power unit. Worst case, they got one of 11 targets in a single Patriot system. Repair/replace the single lost unit. In the meantime, the other 5 Kinzhals didn't hit anything, nor did the cruise missiles or the other ballistic missiles. I think there were NASAMS and IrisT at the location helping out. Possibly hundreds of lives were saved.

true, BUT the ballistic missiles go to into space (about 1000km altitude, the space station is at around 500km altitude) and then re-enter into atmosphere that's why are so fast (the gravity helps a lot here). The Kinzhal is not as fast as a ballistic missile, because it doesn't go into space but at high altitude in best cases and cannot gain the speed of a ballistic missile. So in order to achieve Mach 13 as the Russian claim, the Kinzhal will need to go very high into the atmosphere where the air is thinner not 30-40 km altitude as Kinzhal does. The Kinzhals might not even be hypersonic due to air friction at low altitude that it flies, only for short period of times while it is at high altitudes.

The Russians must have had some sort of forward observer/spy telling them the location of that patriot system. Either that or it was a complete fluke while targeting civilian buildings. Russian military hardware is just too crappy and stupid to target a small vehicle from that distance, even with their satellites they can't really pin it down because those patriot systems would move regularly enough. All Russian satellite schedules are known anyway, so they would know how often and when to move. That worked remarkably well so far... most experts expected Russia to completely beat down Ukraine's air defenses, but NATO reconaissance snitched on bombers and cruise missiles....

"Shot down at an low altitude" - this is exactly how you down a "hypersonic" missile. No matter how fast, it must slow down on its final approach to the target and becomes prey to air defense. Not to mention that hypersonic missiles have a lot of issues (type of engine, heat protection, ...) so that their use is in essence questionable or does not warrant the high costs of deployment. All "smart parts" of a Kinzhal are essentially Western, to which Russia has no longer access. So, it has what it has in stock and then its the end of the road for these suckers.
